Black Op
There may yet be some things said by those who were here eariler Amy. Might as well keep it open anyways.
Mythos_Ruler
I believe an admin's job is not to police the hearts and minds of the forummers. To remove content from a thread, it must be demonstrable that the content was inherently offensive and broke the rules and guidelines of the forum's community. Are the admins now going to delete many of the pics in the "Post your Desktop thread!" because they have a few girls in bikinis for a background? Such a picture would show much more than the graphic in this thread.Show me which rule was broken, else we have admins that alter forummer content at discretion. Black Op
Well, this falls unders Section 3.7 (quite infamous now I believe ) since Nathan deemed those pictures porn/sexually offensive. Determining what pics are of that nature and punishments are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

The Prophet
I seem to like european girls better for some reason. (I have a thing for accents) There are my 2 cents. -The Prophet
CodeOptimist
Well, this falls unders Section 3.7 (quite infamous now I believe ) since Nathan deemed those pictures porn/sexually offensive. Determining what pics are of that nature and punishments are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Quite infamous indeed. While I didn't deem it "porn", I believe it was inappropriate, as Akya said.I believe an admin's job is not to police the hearts and minds of the forummers.Good point, Michael. What I am trying to do is to keep the community "G-rated", since we have a good number of young (under 13) people here. Are the admins now going to delete many of the pics in the "Post your Desktop thread!" because they have a few girls in bikinis for a background? Such a picture would show much more than the graphic in this thread.I have considered it And, I have removed some pictures there to be sure.Show me which rule was broken, else we have admins that alter forummer content at discretion.Unfortunately, perhaps Section 3.7 should be detailed further, as there was not one exact rule that was broken. However, I have discussed the goal of keeping the community G-rated with various members of the team and we were in agreement.I am not trying be the "censor police", but rather trying to keep everything here fine enough for say, my little sister (Uppy's age) to see. akya
I believe it was inappropriate, as Akya said. Where did I say that ? *re-reads...*oh, I was correcting Uppy's spelling but now I do judge that considering some forumers' age, it would have been innapropriate. if such content must be displayed, a warning should be displayed ...or maybe have a forum for 18 and above ?maybe that would be too complicated considering some people may lie about their age, but it's a suggestion anyway. Black Op
@Amy: WFG tried a forum like you suggested once very early on this forum's existance. However, WFG came to the realization that all the topics there could easily belong in GenChat as well, so that forum was discontinued. Plus I, being 15 posted there anyways (I say WFG instead of we since I wasen't a mod yet).

Mythos_Ruler
I certainly can sympathize with the fact that we have younger forummers here. However, anything short of a bare nipple or reproductive organ, I don't see how it could have been listed as "offensive," especially since the topic was meant to be light-hearted. Regardless, I will not push the issue further - beyond my official protest.
CodeOptimist
Thank you for voicing your opinion, Michael. We are discussing some changes to the CGs to clarify this issue
Curufinwe
(As for section 3.7, was this picture porn or sexually offensive? That is more of personal opinion than really straight fact. I find violence a lot more offensive (and for kids too) than a woman wearing underwear ... that is why French are so peaceful ... we have so many posters of lingerie adverts int he streets with women in underwear at every street corner
