Mithrandir Posted April 8, 2004 Share Posted April 8, 2004 First of all, I am a newbie here and I'm Paul, I have read LOTR, The Hobbit (1937 reprint I think) and own them. I always like the movies I own the Fellowship VHS, Two Towers extended edition DVD which helps carry alot of stuff but alot is still misplaced or not there and am trying to get the third and the hobbit on VHS.I really like the books and find the movies are pretty blah but I do get lazy and just like to watch the movies, the actors in there aren't bad at all and there are alot of powerful lines which have meaning and can somewhat help understand what's going on today. Ex.: No Parents should have to barry(sp) their child.I am in love with the Hobbit, I got reprinted drawings in the book from tolkien too so it kind of influences how much I like the movies because of how different they look Ex.: Smaug then in the books. And BTW, you'll most likely get better results for the "Movie or Book fan" debate at the TLA Forums, where you'll very likely to see the movies smashed into microscopic pieces.
