Crash on Start up, GSLS and Post disabled, win 10, crash log included.

Good day, I saddly have encountered a start up crash on my HP Omen 880 (Windows 10, Nvidia 1060 3gb, and AMD Ryzen 1400 quad core processor ) this started two days ago upon start up and i did try to see if it was the known GLSL error but saddly after disabling post and smoothing, regenerating a config file, and running the game in admin and in compatibility mode with XP service pack 3 i  am still getting the start up error.

Sure @vladislavbelov here is the system_info.txtsystem info. text and i took a look at the links and it seems to mention the dev build or a patch? i admit i did not know thier was a dev build so what be the recommended way to go about this issue; I am willing to download the dev build by the way.

If you'd able to get SVN, apply the patch and compile the game then it'd be great (BuildInstructions).

WAIT I AM DUMB.. i missed something on my end and will update this post after testing; apologies for potential user error

 

so i just finished bulding the test vesion from the public trunk... unless i missed something I am getting an error still

oh wow thanks, so sadly after confirming i had downloaded the latest build from the public repository from this link : https://code.wildfiregames.com/source/0ad/

I am still  getting the crash after verifying the SVN, and refreshing the config file. i have attached the new crash long and system info to help.

 

I am open to any other ideas and suggestions as well. @Stan`

Okay @Stan`, I will do my best my best here but my experience with SVN is basic and sadly visual studio I have not made a compile or build with it before, . so I may be slow to reply or DM if i get stuck.

that being said I had some questions  before i started to do the compiling on my end.

 

First with the link that vladislav gave ( https://code.wildfiregames.com/D1789) I am not sure if there is a way to download this part separate from the repository itself; if not I already downloaded the main repository via SVN so that is all i need to compile the build correct? if i was dumb and i missed that downloading only that was possible i apologize and will fix asap.

 

Second, if I do need to complie the svn build as outlined in visual studio will 2019 work? and if so I just need to download the C++ options correct?

Don't worry, I'll help you !

  1. No unfortunately you need either VS2015 (recommended) or VS2017 (You might have some tweaking to do) (2019 does not bundle the VS2015 compiler) You can find it here https://visualstudio.microsoft.com/vs/older-downloads/
  2. You need to download the patch save it as a .diff file then apply it like it's explained here how to (you can also download each file manually as view options → show raw file right, and replace the existing ones)

Thanks for the clarification @Stan` I just got around to installing Visual Studio and will be trying to figure out how to build it using the tutorial here (https://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/BuildInstructions) its a bit to skeleton in the part about visual studio itself and as a first time user this may be a challenge; currently trying to figure out how to load what i need in visual basic

Hey; I apologize for the silence on this. I was taking some time to try to figure out Visual Studio 15, but saddly i am stuck on trying to even load the project. I dont want to load the DM with a chain of questions on Visual studio so would there be anyway i could get some more detailed help?
