Yes it is really sad, you are right, we all need to get along! Thanks for the kind wishes I really appreciate them!

Anytime  :D Two reasons why people don't get along is money and power. Gods have the power, and we are just his children so we should follow what the gods want, and trust them because they know what is right, and we have no privilege to have the power. Stop being so cynical and arrogant, and life would get better !  Money ? I don't really care about it,as long as I can afford to do the simpleist things in life. I am happy to be a farmer, live in a little cottage by the fjord, and see my Norway's beautiful nature. I wouldn't trade my life for anything. People should be happy what they have, and work with what they have.

Also I forgot to add because I talk so much lol Topics are so interesting aren't they ? About Norwegian girls, well you have your arrogant/mall loving/hair extension/bad makeup wearing snobs that only care about man for his money,or if he is a professional football player and you have your nature loving, happy girls that love a man for his character/strength. Women in Oslo are more snobby than a girl in Bergen lol

It is nice to hear that Norway has some normal girls still :)

@Astrid Where I live, we have a lot of those mall loving, more materialistic type of girls, a lot also only care about looks too. Most of the girls I know in my area are either English origin or German origin. The English origin one's tend to be very liberal, arrogant and materialistic, the German one's I know are very conservative, as for Afrikaans girls, I don't know many here, but the one's I met elsewhere seem more old fashioned and friendly. As for other race girls, well I don't really know much about them, but those I do know, are generally extremely liberal, pro feminism and the complete opposite of everything I value. Although due to my appearance (as I mentioned before, I have rather dark hair and eyes), I am mostly mistaken for a foreigner, especially a European of some sort, most think I have come directly from either somewhere in Europe or elsewhere, so it is odd.

We do have very nice girls that are modest here so there is still hope. When i do talk to the girls about paganism to ethics  I use two examples of who should be their rolemodels, and those are the beautiful Freyja and Kim Kardashian. I am sure you know my rolemodel, and yes it is Kim :P

Girls in the rural areas are more friendly and nonchalant than in the city. A lot of the city girls care about fashion, money, and don't get me wrong it is nice to be clean, and dress nice but they take it too far. I am  into my own fashion, and that is I  wear t shirts of my favourite bands, tight jeans/leather pants, boots, and my long hairs :D I don't like to have a title of what I am or how I express myself but usually I am called a metal head lol I don't like a label or title because it makes you look like a try hard lol I just do what I want, and don't care about a title. I love black metal but I don't prefer to be called a black metal head. I can't stand when Norwegians yell "ist Krieg" lol

@Astrid haha I did not know that Kim was your role model! It is good to hear that some Norwegian girls are modest! Yes I know what you mean, sometimes it is better to not have a label attached  to you. I'm a Christian, but most of the girls I meet are Christians too (although not all are Christians), but they are still very materialistic and shallow sadly, some are pretty modest but still shallow, of course not everyone is like that. True here also, the girls in the farms and smaller areas are more friendly and down to earth.

I think it is so foolish how girls act these days or even men that just like cars, and look at a girl if she is beautiful or not. I just stay away from the negative but I do have friends I went to school with that never grew up. They still think they are on a "RUSS" {I hated that event lol} event, and how they look at life as positive is negative to me. I do talk to them but we just have nothing in common. I am mentioning how much I love Odin and they are mentioning what Tesla is better.

I went to England for a holiday, and I went into a pub,and I noticed  the girls were very vile/unladylike,and one of them just looked at me and said "Maybe the princess should go back to her book" lol Why ? I did nothing to them but walk in smiling like I usually do lol I didn't even reply because they were not worth it,and just ordered my drink. Perhaps they were insecure or jealous or just miserable ? I also met some very wonderful girls with charm and class.  British can be snobby or extra nice,I just go by people.

Yes the Boer folk are very down to earth, and they love god which leads to having good morals, and loving others. They don't deserve what they are going through. Yes the German culture is very quiet, and private. I noticed they don't get into other's business and you shouldn't get into theirs unless it was to help. I think that is a great thing. It's the same here in Norway, people here are more shy,and keep to themselves. I rebelled against that stereotype lol I wild and talkative for a Norwegian.

Nothing wrong with dark hair and dark eyes, and I find that look very attractive, especially from Italian men lol Don't get me started ! I met some real cool Italian men from USA to Italy. My friend from USA that is Italian invited me to USA,and I was invited over for dinner, and I never seen so much food in my life lol The table was full of plates, pot of pasta lol The food was so good, and I wish we ate that kind of food here in Norway.Norwegian food is either good or bland heh Depends on what you eat lol I prefer to stay with fish.

What cultures are you by the way ? I am a Norwegian by nationality but my mum is Swedish {born in Stockholm} and my father is Norwegian {born in Bergen} so I am 50/50 heh

Yes Kim is amazing, and I learned my English by watching the Kardashians. I didn't need to take English in school to learn English because I learned it from the Kardashians. The teacher told me to open up my English book, and I just laughed and told her I already know this language so I will be excused, and the rest of you waste your time. :P Call me when we all graduate together. She inspired me bigtime :D Who is Frejya when you have Kim ?

I like Christians,as long as you believe in God I don't care what religion you are. I have Christian friends as I have pagan friends, and we just don't discuss our religion when we are together because it would turn out lol You know.

I just ignore the arrogance because they are just a waste of time, and there are plenty of good people than to bother with the snobby.Have fun,and smile :D Even in Norway Norwegians make fun of other's dialects. My dialect sounds more German than someone from Oslo so people from Oslo have this joke about how we sound. Yes WW2,you know what I mean lol   Oslo people sound like muppets lol They make fun of my accent so back to them. I don't go out of my way to make fun of people but disrespect goes both ways lol

Yes people in the rural are way nicer

@Astrid Yes I agree with you completely! I am a mix of cultures, on my mother side, I have Persian (My ancestors left before Islam took over, they were Zoroasters), the red hair and white complexion come from them.  My mum's mother is light browned haired (she was born a red head) and pale skinned, grand dad was also red haired and pale and her grandmother was blue eyed and red haired. So I have no idea what part of Persia they were from lol. My mother's father was an indian. My dad's side is also mixed too, his mum was blond haired, blue eyed and nordic complexioned, his dad was a light skinned indian, I am not sure where my dad's  mother was from. We suspect that we are mixed with european somewhere up the line. Yeah so my dad is blue eyed, light brown haired and like a german complexion, my mum is more olive skinned, with reddish blond hair, with some brown also. My sister and I are dark brunettes, with brown eyes and white skinned, like in between olive and white skinned. It is kind of weird, we get mistaken for europeans all the time, my dad is generally mistaken for an afrikaner or germanic originated person, my mum for a southern european and my sister and I have been mistaken for different types of Europeans too. Yeah it is weird.

My first name is Caleb, my second one is Raoul ( french verison of Ralph/Rolf) .

We are like fourth or fifth generation South African, I believe our family has been in South Africa for over 100 years.

We are completely westernized in terms of culture, leaning more towards English culture than Afrikaans culture.

We are Christians, very conservative and we belong to a rather conservative church, that is why we know a fair amount of conservative Germans.

That is such an interesting story about your life :D That is so cool your family has been in South Africa for that many years. As I explained in my past thread my family are Lutherans but we never went to church. It took me to choose my own religion to get me to dedicate to a faith, and that takes place on the fjord.

I am Astrid, and I come from a family of farmers that were just commoners but turned the farms/orchards into a successful family business. I think what got me away from the arrogance of a lavish lifestyle is music, nature, and my religion. Also seeing how bad people act and think with money made me see what money is really about. No not for me lol

Norway started out very poor but once we found oil we became very rich, and that lead Norwegians to go from grateful/nature loving people to taking nature and life for grantide. We were not meant to love money, drive fast cars, and look at the mall as our paradise. For years we lived with nature, and loved nature, and put nature first before anything. Our foods were made from scratch, and made from the healthiest ingrediants. Now a lot of Norwegians consume soda and eat fast food because they can now.

The majority of Norway is atheist lol Most Norwegians {who were into gods in the past} do not believe in gods or god, they believe live happy on earth {with money},and wherever we go we lived life to the fullest with our money. What a sad attitude right ?I wouldn't be happy knowing I was going nowhere are I leave Midgard so how are you happy on earth when you know you are not going to an afterlife ? Norwegians went from happy pagans to atheist capitalists even though we have a socialist govt lol It's complex, and I don't even think about what is going on here. Thank the gods for nature ! :P

@Astrid have you played Age of Mythology before? The Mythology in that game is real interesting!

My husband has that game in his steam library but never touched it yet lol My husband bought it because it looked good, but due to the fact he plays several different games he never had time to try it. It looks great, and the fact there are norse makes it even better. I love norse mythology as I love mythology of other cultures, especially the romans.

I am also one that plays my favourite games only, and neglect the others lol My list is not too big but I have the one's I play the most first priority, and those are O.A.D.,Crusader Kings 2 {so expensive hobby, full of DLCS,and a Swedish company,ty for ripping off your kin lol}Hearts of Iron {another DLC pack},Northgard,Men Of War Assault Squad 2, {that is a goody}Ancestours Legacy {Great single, but multi player is dead},and last is Civilzation 5 {I wish 6 was good because it had potential}.

I think all accents are beautiful because they represent your culture or what geographical area you live. For example in Norway our Bunads differ from what county we live.I am from Hordaland so my bunad is Black, white and red. There are different colours from different countys same as different dialects. Now I also have a bunad for Sweden lol

@Astrid it's nice to hear that your family and country worked to get where they are now!  Yeah I cannot imagine life without God, it would feel empty for me :) . I highly recommend Age of Mythology, it is similiar to 0 AD and age of empires, but with Greek, Egyptian, Norse and Atlantean mythological units in addition to regular soldiers, also a deity system with deity powers! It has a nice campaign too. That's a great game list btw :) . Exactly different accents are very interesting!

You sometimes have to work together to get something accomplished, and it's like a tribe of Vikings that just settled a land all building a longhouse so they can have shelter before the "big winter". In this society people are out for themselves, and also will make sure one fails so one can be on top. I always put my tribe first, and I will help out whoever needs help because when you do something for someone that favour is returned. I do live my life by virtues, and the female virtues, and a lot of people look at me like a lady because I love Freyja, and her values. I am honoured to live my life after the beautiful Freyja because she is a rolemodel, and if more girls followed her they would have great priorities, and more men would have a chance with a wonderful girl, and live happily ever after.

It's not about your money, how you look {well looks can be good heh I do like cute men} or how much you impress. You will not impress me if you act like an idiot. I never and will not go by the "alpha male" theory because one person is great at something and another will  be bad at something. For example one man is amazing in the skiing so he is alpha at that, but he can't carry a note in music which the other man is amazing at music but he will risk running into a tree with skiis on. An Alpha man gets invited to a fantasy lover's party, and they are all playing Dungeons and Dragons, and the fantasy lovers are amazing at D and D where the alpha man doesn't even know what an orc is,and gets laughed out the campaign. {playfully laugh}. I hate hearing the word alpha and one certain person leads in everyone's eyes. The question is "what do you lead" ? Yes if you are great at the luge and are headed to the Olympics than you do lead the luge but come to a black metal show with me,and you won't fit in unless you know the music.

Yes gods are great, and if you don't have gods/god in your life than your life is empty, you need gods in life especially when you are going through bad times. My grandparents live on the fjords for years, and they suffered through the biggest blizzard with scarce food but they have god ! :D That's why they didn't give up. Gods/god {yes some have one god} are wonderful so embrace them.

Yes I played AOM today, and I really do love it heh My good friend came over and asked "Astrid I thought you liked histourical, and were not into fantasy because this is what it is". No it's not fantasy because it is about gods, and when we worship our gods we are worshipping gods/giants/,and also we do have mythological creatures in our pagans religions, so when we are playing AOM with dragons/giants/Odin {my beautiful} we are worshipping, and thinking about the gods helping us in our lives or aiding us in battles. So it's all philosophy to me,and if you are picky about fantasy or lesser fantasy games than pretend it's in your head, and it's your religion only. When my army is battling, and I am using a dragon to help me destroy another's temple it's me embracing the gods. It's in my head and heart. Also I have a policy that if the units are not detailed I don't play the game lol If the unit has no eyes,no nose or mouth I will not play it because I ampicky about detail lol AOM is Astrid approved lol I love how detailed OAD is,even if you zoom in on the units they are beautiful and have a behavior of their own.

Yes accents are pretty, and I still think Northern Ireland has the best accents for men lol Just something about the N.I. man lol

@Astrid true, one should think of other people and help where we can. Yeah everybody has something they are great in or love, I had a feeling you would like AOM, it is an amazing game. Haha yeah the Northern Ireland accent is great, very manly\rough. True, some aspects of AOM, like giants, dragons and some other things are not fantasy things, but stuff that have existed at some point in the past. A fair amount of mythology is based on real events, for example the sacking of Troy was proven to have been a real historical event, who knows what else really happened but are considered as just myths today.

Yes I am a bit addicted now to AOM lol I neglected my CK2 to play it,and I feel bad I am letting my favourite game sit but it is exciting to try new games, and experience something different as in playstyle and mechanics.

I do adore CK2, but what I don't like about Crusaders Kings is you don't get to interact in battles you just read the battles as if it was a story. I get  that CK2 is a story from a histourical perspective, but I prefer controlling your army in battles like in OAD,Men of War,and AOM. CK2 is a bit micro management but it is exciting to plot and to plan tactics and battles. I do not like how you have to buy DLCs to look like the faction you are playing or fighting against.

I do agree that mythological creatures did exist in the past, and people around here think I am mad when I speak of such creatures or animals that by society cannot have existed because they only belong in fables. Why is it our kinsmen told stories about these creatures ? I am sure they ran into them sometime in their lives,or seen them in the forest or up in the hills. Perhaps these mythical creatures did exist but became extinct ? There are giants that do live in Iceland, and there are giants in the Netherlands, and we are talking about families that are very tall heh There is a myth that trolls live in the forests here in Norway, and we even sell statues and items to tourists that are excited about this myth.

Yes I seen the trojan horse on AOM,and there are a lot of gods from norse to egytian to Greece etc. The graphics remind me of AOE 3,and I love that game because it is about the new world. I always loved learning and reading about the American frontier, and the wars that went on wth the natives vs the settlers. Such an exciting subject ! I also always loved reading about the consquistadours and the discovery of the new world. You should play "expeditions conquistadours",as it is a good when you get the game down. They also have "expeditions Vikings" but it was a bit disappointing because I can't stand how you can't explore the world, and if you do the time runs out and the game ends. Such a ruiner for a game that had potential, especially as a game with the  norse. I won't even go into the bugs and gltiches they still haven't fixed yet.

Yes the NI accent is very manly lol I agree. I knew this exchange student from N.I. that was very handsome, and had that accent. I dated him one day until his mum ended the relationship because I am a heathen to her protestant religion, and didn't want me influencing him,and driving him away from christianity lol He liked me a lot,and was crazy about me,as I was crazy about him but religion got in the way. If it wasn't for his mum I probably would of married him,and not ever met my husband. Good job mum

@Astrid Good to hear that AOM is well liked :) .  Exactly, people act like you are crazy if you suggest that giants could of lived in the past and today, also I believe dragons were dinosaurs, I also don't believe in evolution, so some people act like you are stupid are you believe something different. Age of Empires 3, one of my favorite games as a teenager, indeed, I love colonial history, it reminds me of South Africa's  history. I will definitely try expeditions conquistadors and expeditions Vikings, it sounds interesting.

Sad to hear that, the Irish guy's mum was so closed minded, although it is great that you married the guy of your dreams instead lol.

True the pony mod is adorable, indeed baby animals are so cute, one of my cat's is a minature cat and is still the size of a kitten, even though she is 7 years old, she is so cute!

Have you tried the "Hyrule Conquest" mod for 0 ad? I wasn't even a Zelda fan before but that mod is amazing!

Yes AOM reminds me so much of O.A.D.,and I think when O.A.D. is at least in Beta people are going to switch. AOM has the coolest god abilities, and I love how you can use your pegasus to scout around the map. I love the different creatures from ravens to minotaurs to centaurs. It's like OAD soldiers are thinking of their gods while they fight. My RL friends that are into lesser fantasy now agree that our kinsmen did think about our gods when they went into battle so boars in all gold {The gauls/romans used boars as a sacred animal for war},and chimeras can be possible on this game. At first they were scepticle and gloated about other "lesser fantasy" games. Just think about religion, and anything can be possible.

I think Wildstar should implement a full time scout on O.A.D. that has regular scout abilities than just a man on horseback. This way our cavalry man can do his job whether he is going to battle or hunting. It can be a bit expensive to train troops, and when one is way across the map you might need him for combat. The scout can also have their own appearance so you recognize them as scouts as the priest/shaman and trader looks different. The scout can have a special ability that makes him run faster so he can get around the map without getting killed by wild animals or enemies. I always wonder how my people on the home base are getting along while my  cavalry of 6 are out exploring the world. One scout would be less overwhelming thinking about those 6 units that can be home protecting the base.

Yes AOE 3 is so interesting, and the native animals added make it so much different, and the graphics are pretty, and colourful. AOE3 reminds me of "Cossaks3" because of the muskets, and the look of that century. You can even just have one unit with a musket protecting your base from outlaws so a lot of freedom on AOE3. I love freedom on games, and being about to choose what you want to do next, and OAD is that :D

Yes his mum was a pain in the @#$%, and she even hated my hair, and how I dressed but ,what else would I expect from a  posh, over fashioned, and religious woman that tried to shut you up over a cup of tea "Do you have coffee" ? She looked at me as a wild girl, and I listened to satanic music {pagan is not satanic lol} that I was a bad influence over her son which he was no angel. He was all tattooed, fought in MMA,and hungout at the pubs. She thought my Mjolnir around my neck was the devil's sign, and she told him I was a witch lol /rolls eyes I really didn'rt care what she thought about me because I have a sense of humour, and me and him were laughing over the whole thing. Me a witch ? That is the most funniest  lol The bright side is I have two inlaws that think I am the best girl for her son heh They adore me,and think I am a princess so I am happy now. The past is the past.

Yes when I first seen the ponie mod, I was so awweeeeeee,so cute, and such a job well done, and even the fantasy castles look so cute. So adourable ! I love the different colours the ponies and unicorns are,and the villages look like something out of Harry Potter or LOTR. I even have a collection of "my pretty ponies".

Kittens are so cute with their bigger heads, small tails, and little bodies awweeeeee I always loved baby lambs also, those are very cute ! I have stuffed animals of baby lambs, wolves, kittens, and bears. I love stuffies lol

I never tried Hyrule but I planned on downloading as it does look great, and fun. Once again very pretty colours, and interesting characters, more the cute style heh I do enjoy realistic and histourical better though such as the original OAD. I will try that out,as I recently tried out the Eastern Asian mod which is very interesting.

Have you ever played Gloria Victis ? It is a bit different than O.A.D. as it is more a OW sandbox pvp game. It's very fun,has great graphics, and a lot of things to do but the bad thing is a lot of desyn, glitches and bugs which makes combat very clunky and slow. Fortunately the devs upgrade it,and eventually it should be released and playable which it is, but still has a few issues.I played It with my hubby for 3 years but not as often as I would like to due to working hours on our farm but when we do play we have a lot of fun,and the combat is so unique and interesting. The game reminds me of Mount and Blade a lot,and the combat is very fun but needs a bit of fixing. What I don't like about GV is the lower population, and the same people to fight that are a bit arrogant. They gloat, they talk bad,and they think they are the best. They do ruin the spirit and fun of the game when they open their mouths but if you ignore them, and fight them, and loot them you will be fine lol Always a game with one guild that are annoying.
