  1. My answer wouldn't really be appropiate I think So I'll just say women
  2. I think around 145-150, been a while since I checked.
  3. Swords weren't that popular anymore back then, nor were people so violent on the streets
  4. I guess HOI and General Chat are the places to discuss that. Many forums is never good (too many clicks, inactivity), and since this forum isn't such a big one I suggest leaving it a it is.
  5. Yeah but I guess independance doesn't mean standardisation. Anyway we need an expert on American history here to clear things up and another topic since we're getting OT
  6. What I heard is it depended where they sat on the carriage. If they sat left it was standardized to driving left because then you couldn't hit the pedestrians with your whip
  7. Yeah I would like to see 21 grams too. 28 day later was awesome, man..what an atmosphere! I recently saw Dogville, one of the best movies I saw thus far. It's probably not something everyone would like (quite experimental) but actually a movie that goes far beyond the usual entertainment thing and it gives you something to think about.
  8. Note though that it is allowed to make tape recordings, but only if the people who are recorded allow it (which is of course unlickely) or if a judge (or the official person responsable for the investigation) allows it. The German law could be different though, but I wouldn't follow this advice unless you consulted a lawyer first Tim. If tape recordings aren't allowed you could end up being prosecuted yourself. My brother also had something similar with his ex-wife's family. He was both physically and financially harassed by them. We brought this for court though without a lawyer (my dad defended him), because that would have been too expensive. Sorry to say this but I wouldn't really bet on winning such a case, in most cases you only get half of the things you want. The best thing you could do is contacting the official instances about it and have a lawyer advise you if it's impossible to talk sense into those three people. This could stop them harassing her, but if not there isn't really much you can do about it if they don't do anything illegal. Another problem, not sure if it applies to Germany, is that a case in court can take a lot of time. So if the goal is to cancel the contract you could end up with a court case taking longer than the length of the contract. So my conclusion: Let a lawyer advise you and don't do too much on yourself if you don't know if it's legally allowed or not. The best thing you can do is support your mother and be a good son to her.
  9. I know most people around here including team members are RTS fans, but what the heck : I've been very impressed by what I've seen so far of the upcoming FPS/RPG game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The game isn't just another shooter or rpg, not even a real combination of both. It's set in the Zone around Chernobyl which is wasted and uninhabited, except for military, stalkers and mutants. Stalkers are people who enter the Zone, looking for valuable artifacts to sell, and you're one of them. The whole Zone is virtually one huge map, a bit comparable to the Half Life or Dungeon Siege system. Basicly it's a shooter, but next to that you can gather artifacts, sell/buy stuff and interact with NPC's. The goal is total freedom for the player, not another quest/sidequest rpg or fast paced shooter in which you have to kill mutants every second. Other impressive existing games imo are Mafia and Morrowind. They are quite different but have the big playground in common. Mafia is set in a big city, while Morrowind in a huge world, both offering total freedom to explore. So, what I would really like is a game that's about freedom combining FPS and RPG. It should have a main story with many twists and several endings. Next to that it should offer a lot interaction with NPC's and a personal base. For example in Morrowind you can build your own manor and store your treasure there. Imo it is far from perfect though, so making all this more realistic would be nice. Next to that you as the player should have an effect on your surroundings. Let's say, if you kill someone, and someone saw this people (NPC's) will start talking about it. Anyway just a basic idea badly described
  10. They call it university too around here Well currently I'm studying history at university and next year I'm probably going to study multimedia & communication technology.
  11. Ah Sam is a circus artist, you know those snake people who can squeeze themselves in small boxes Probably 18-20 square meters I think.
  12. Yeah after thinking a while that's possible. Well if you've seen Dutch speaking people doing it it could be Belgians because of our bilinguality (hope that's an existing word ) (dutch-french).
  13. Lol, I'm Flemish (so I also speak Dutch) and haven't seen Dutch/German people doing it more than anyone else. Can't be because we aren't trained well enough in our spelling. Dutch is such a hard language in terms of grammar that we're trained very severely in it. I bet some Dutch people know the dt-mistake, if you would make one like that in an essay you'll loose 25% of your marks for each one, so four of those = 0
  14. All that is written by Morricone or Mancini
  15. My relationship with my two half-brothers is pretty good, although you can't always call it a relationship. First of all, my youngest brother is 20 years older, my eldest 22 (that's 39 and 41 years-old). Another thing is that my youngest brother's life is a bit of a mess the past few years due to coming out for his homosexuality and the stupid reaction of some people in my family. So we don't see him so often, but he's a good guy.
  16. eclectic - combining elements from different sources/styles. amalgam - a mix of a lot of things. Many of those words are borrowed from French I notice. So if you know some French it's not hard to understand them.
  17. Just don't base your opinion on a movie or tv series. Base your opinion on the country's (national and foreign) policy, real life experience with people from there, etc. Even with that you still have to keep in mind that we are all people, so country borders aren't always mentality borders. My experience with French people, and I have quite a lot of that (been there almost every year in my life, have and had friends there) is that they are very nice and in some cases quite admireable for their courage in the social area. But regionally they differ very much, the south isn't comparable to the north, or the people in the CĂ©vennes for example are also very different compared to the people in Paris.
  18. Well, the high-tech sector may benifit, the smart kids will probably too, but that leaves out 95% of your population, like always. And I believe more or better food on the table, better education, better social security (aka wellfare) won't be the result of more national pride or more opportunities for the high-tech sector.
  19. Isn't that a bit too unrelated to what we are actually doing here? Shouldn't it be better if we keep it related to the recent accomplishments in the design of the game and the community?
