  1. You need to spend more time on the reasons why these community forums exist.
  2. Word to the wise; never mix skittles with gum, it only accelerates the rate at which the gum dissolves and it creates a weird substance that coats your entire mouth.
  3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was probably one of the better late 80s early 90s cartoons. I think it was my favourite cartoon until X-Men came onto the scene in 1992.
  4. Yeah it probably wouldn't be to you. Personally, this ranks as one the funniest things I have ever read. I remember those "Say no to drugs" commercials quite vividly and I thought this was a superb cut up of one worst of these commercials. I think I actually fell on the ground laughing while reading this.
  5. Maybe you should read the article first before you question the title of the thread.
  6. This thread is fine. If I had said that the reporter (Rick Mercer) was American no one would have any problems with this thread. This thread, if anything, just proves the extensive inferiority complex that Canadians have. We have to make fun of the Americans in order to feel better about ourselves.
  7. I watched part of the final game tonight, and I don't mean to offend any Basketball fans by saying this, but that game was about as dull as a watching the grass growing championships.
  8. Well sorry about this thread eh. When I posted it I had had a long day of cutting down trees and I had just returned to my igloo to cook some pancakes.
  9. The point is that Americans know absolutely nothing about Canada, which you just illustrated with your little spiel there. American television is much more popular in Canada then Canadian television. The most popular sitcoms, news programs, talk shows and dramas are all American. American television for the most part shows America in a positive light and I am sure that a vast majority of Canadians are more interested in watching positive American interviews on Oprah, then they are in watching negative interviews on This Hour Has 22 Minutes. I have trouble remembering the last time I saw a Canadian television show, but I am certain that I saw an American program yesterday.
  10. You should probably watch the clips then, it seems fairly unlikely that the clips were severely edited in order to achieve the final result. If they were editing them to deceive the general public they would have been revealed as frauds a long time ago. They did have a segment once where they showed the clips in where Americans caught on to the fact that the goal of the interview was to make fun of them. The bottom line is that these clips are funny; they just aren't funny for Americans that is why the warning is on the thread.
  11. That is from experience from showing "Talking to Americans" to Americans, I haven't found to many who have actually liked it.
  12. They don't seem to have kung fu grip, though Lincoln has that deadly stovepipe top hat, I wouldn't want to mess with him. I assume Bush's gas guzzling SUV comes separately?
  13. I can do the 1500 m in 4:46, we should race; though I prefer the longer races myself.
  14. All of the American fast food places seem to being going in the direction of health oriented foods. Wendy’s, McDonalds, Burger Kings and so on all seem to be pushing salads lately. I haven’t eaten at an American fast food joint in awhile as in my opinion they tend to produce wretched slop, and I don’t think I am ever going to spend money at any of these places on a salad. Luckily better places to purchase fast food exist up here, such as Harvey’s, Pizza Pizza and Tim Horton’s.
  15. Nothing tops the one where Rick was in Florida asking the opinion of people of whether Canada should bother constructing a navy seeing as we lack access to any body of water and if they supported the idea that Canada should borrow American ports. If there was an American version of this segment it would be a lot more challenging to come with questions as American culture is shoved down every other countries throat.
  16. Well I warned Americans that they wouldn't like it.
  17. This isn't saying Americans are dumb, it is just saying that they are completely uninformed and oblivious to their neighbours to the north, or the south as that one couple believed.
  18. Talking to Americans was a segment that aired with This Hour has 22 Minutes in 2000 – 2001. It was stopped after September 11 for obvious reasons. It widely known that Americans have little to no knowledge of the Canadians to their North. This segment capitalizes on this lack of knowledge. The host Rick Mercer convinces average Americans, politicians and even the leader of the free world of completely ridiculous facts regarding Canada. If you hail from the United States of America you probably will not find this funny at all, and you will probably be highly annoyed as many Americans are. The standard question asked by most people upon seeing this is what is how many people out of those interviewed see through the joke. Rick Mercer stated in an interview that about 1 out of 20 Americans caught on to joke. Here are some clips from the show I discovered. Rushmore Arkansas Iowa Woody Springer Provinces Gore Bush
  19. I am disappointed with the direction that the game seems to be taking.
  20. I already admitted to that; and I do not think, given the chance that I would change it.
  21. Mark wise my worst class is Calculus, but my Calculus mark is fairly comparable to my other marks. As a physics/history major I have an odd array of classes that never cease to confuse and confound my peers.
