  1. having 6 year old twins myself (boy and girl btw) i think i've already reached the desired amount of kids and to quote my fav. little green man: "always two there are, no more no less ..." but if you'd asked me the question 10 years ago i'd probably answered zero, because i was not in the situation when i met my future-wife-to-be ... and if you find that special someone you know it's the perfect time to have children ... no matter how many.
  2. @Tim yes and useful! but only when you grow a second set of thumbs and i'm ever amazed on the crazy stuff that is sold on ebay the best so far was that Mig 21 Fighter Jet -bernd
  3. Horses! and not just because my wife and myself have two of them
  4. Mae Govannen Rohirwine! welcome to the WFG-Forums and thank you for your interest in TLA. If you are interested in joining our team (as maybe a literature consultant) feel free to apply here. anyway - please browse through the TLA site and forums for a short primer on what the project is about and which way we've decided to take. hope you enjoy your stay here and i'm looking forward to read your postings suilad -Bernd p.s. about nicknames - in the team it has become standard to include (atleast) the first name (see our .sigs) - but as a forumer you may do however you choose p.p.s. greetings from your northern neighbor-country
  5. i met my wife at a party back in '95. she caught my eye and i made my "move" - so to say we ended up having a brief (one weekend) "affair" if you want - the problem was - she was going to switzerland for 6 months the next week. so well. funny thing is - i didn't take this too seriously back then. but she hunted me down once she got back. took some effort though - because i moved into my (then) new appartment and new job. must have been some stroke of luck she finally got my phonenumber and called me. we met at a coffee house (not shop ) and well ... the romance hasn't ended yet. and in september '97 our kids (twins: boy & girl) were born - so there you go.
  6. if you liked the Silmarillion - you are gonna love the Unfinished Tales ah yes D2:LOD ... i dunno how many hours i spent on that one ... what do you think of Spellforce? i don't have it - but friends told me the campaigns are ok and multiplayer is a mess suilad -Bernd
  7. Mae govannen Aquilo! Welcome to WFG! We hope you'll enjoy our little community. And i'm sure you've already found your way over to TLA Tell us a bit about yourself, when did you come into contact with Tolkien , what are your fav computer games and so on ... suilad -Bernd
  8. Welcome Mithrandil! your forum-name already betrayed you as Tolkien fan (it means something like Friend of the Grey Staff ... mith = grey; (g)randr = staff; dil = friend). we sincerely hope your stay at the WFG forums is a pleasant one hope to read many postings from you suilad -Bernd
  9. now there you go - beware the Bear(nd) suilad -Bernd
  10. concerning the theatrical cut i voted for Fellowship. it was the most complete and accurate depiction of the books into a movie. TTT suffered from overlong battle-scenes and invented gap-fillers. RotK only continues that trend, by being bogged down with scenes that should have gone into TTT and thus having too little time to accuratly depict the latter half of the third book. For me the theatrical versions got worse with each installment. The Extended Editions are another category - TTT:EE was a major improvement over the theatrical version and i guess RotK:EE will do the same to the theatrical version. suilad -Bernd
  11. errm Tim ... i don't think was meant in a negative way and oh yeah .. welcome Mark!
  12. yep this short is pretty funny ... but man ... this is OLD news j/k if any of you are into the whole spoofing-popular-franchises-thing you've got to check out Star Warp'd - a hilarious claymation film
  13. our little family has started a tradition 4 years ago - which is kind of unique amongst our relatives. we are inviting the closest relatives (grandparents, uncles and aunts and some cousins) for a special x-mas breakfast on Dec. 25th to our place. sure it gets crowded and the workload (shared by me and my wife) in the early morning is quite a burden, but its so much fun gathering the whole bunch together and spreading the x-mas spirit /me is starting to get into xmas-mood ... 2 weeks to go ... and 6 days till RotK @mods: this thread should be moved to General Chat IMO
  14. me and my buddies from university did this quite often in the years between 1995 and 2000 ... but after that everybody got jobs and so the whole thing died down you can view those archives at the Zockclub History and please excuse the poor english ... we were young and needed the money suilad -Bernd
  15. hour wise i must say Diablo II and its Expansion. even my wife is/was a D2 addict
  16. eew ... so you have any other body parts - since you are collecting "stuff" from the World Wars ok - just kidding - but seriously: do you have any way of identifying him ? does his family know ???
  17. @Klaas: yeah - and Sam "The Man" Jackson but most of you will be to young to have ever seen Pulp Fiction voted for Viggo though - 'cause his determination, passion and his multiple talents really speak for him. go viggo (can't wait to see his new movie Hidalgo) and concerning Arnold - yeah he was cool ... ten years ago he should have quit after T2 ... almost everything that came afterwards cannot be compared to his earlier classics. (btw i recently bought the Collectors Edition of Conan - The Barbarian on DVD and listened to the Audio-commentary he did w/ director John Milius suffice to say - what he doesn't talk in the movie he makes up in the commentary )
  18. hi, my name is bernd and i'm a DVD addict. i started way back in 1999. i bought way too much crap. then i got better in 2001. still bought much crap. i reigned myself in in 2002 and 2003. But this fall is just killing me ... Babylon 5 Season 3 Two Towers Extended Edition Indiana Jones Box-set ... ... ... but see for yourself: my meager collection
  19. i've checked it out last saturday and rather liked it ... my son went nuts on it too, since he's an "old" mario kart addict from his GBA guess i'll have to get that for x-mas too
  20. eeewww *wipes it off* well it WAS cool ... but all too short ... you are done w/ the exhibition after around 2 hours ... and thats virtually nothing compared to the stuff they hoard in some warehouses back in NZ btw - i heard a report last week that PJ and Richard Taylor (WETA boss) plan to make a permanent exhibition in Wellington NZ ... hmmm another good excuse to go there
