it doesnt force you to write proper OO, it just forces you to write OO...if i get to choose i work in C++, thou i've thought about taking a look at C# when i get some time on my hands, seems quite useful for tools.

welcome to the forums when you say graphics, do you mean flashy eyecandy like they have in games or a gui? if you want eyecandy i suggest you look into OpenGL, there are several tutorials out there on several subjects and techniques. http://www.gamedev.net is a great place to start if you want a gui kill your hopes, there isnt a _good_ multiplatform library out there (or at least i've never found one and ive looked for a while). do like everyobdy else and write one version for every OS you want to support.

hm...if you havent read it you really should, The Code Book by Singh, don't remember his first name, might be Simon. It goes thru almost all of that you're going to write about (found about 5-6 things it doesnt). Really worth its read. Post the essay here when your done, im a bit interested in cryptography myself.

hm...ive been using 3 nicks. When i got Netstorm, really old online-game, was loads of fun back then. I used "Dark Angel". Later on i went by "CiraDoC" in various games, comes from the books by Katherine Kerr if i remember correctly. 3rd: dathui. i got kinda ashamed by the notation of "CiraDoC", fel childish, so i wanted a new one. I was playing magic: the gathering alot and there is a special kind of creature that got a ability namd "shadow", which i found really cool. All these creatures are named along the lines of dauthi , so i just switched the position of u and voilá, got myself a nickname the same as a regon of Tibet (i think) and something that got to do with soeme kind of cancer and now im quite fond of "dathui", its almost a part of me

How many of you folks are going to begin studying X years at uni this fall? im going 4 years of C.S, hopefully the it-market will have got a bit better here in sweden when im done, currently its steadily rising, if it keeps it up it will be a nice little market for me when im done
