this is what I wanted to say, you wrote perfect. but the RTS purists will disagree, they want people to suffer doing the boring and hard part, proGUI can bring more people to 0AD, because this is not 1990s or 2000s people want a lot of automation everywhere, other games focus on places where people get the rush; and also perfecting economy by spending months and years will demotivate normal people from playing game.

The real problem is not PROGUI, The real problem is Geriatrix's behaviour towards other players, he accuses other of things they didn't do, and says people leave 0AD because of existing people who try to moderate and promote healthy communication between players. he even said (I don't have proof now) that @Stan` retired from his position because of 0AD players everyone has personal preference and that is the first priority when it comes to working for something that doesn't pay you anything, accusing others for someones decision not to participate and villainizing or making fun of people and/or ban them from games and wasting others time by stating delusions as facts are may be not the biggest problem but it's annoying and waste of time.

I think we should make 0AD visually appealing in parallel too, when you are done optimizing game performance and 0AD looks like an old game you have to go back to visual details may be we attract 3d artist and make them work for 0AD and 0AD give certification for their work.

I used to think about creating a website for playing 0AD with cash prize, I am not against it but I don't know how many players are even good enough to play competitive games, if money is involved things will get complicated, we need strict rules and infrastructure to implement them, I am not sure 0AD can control its players the main reason I am not willing to play with money in 0AD is anyone can customize the game to their advantage, nobody has control. I am seeing @Norse_Harold trying to impose law and order in game but failing because we got players that don't want law and order in a free and open source game. I think 0AD survives because of players consider each other as friends, money kills friendships at least argument about them. if people hate each other they won't show up to play 0AD. If someone was sponsoring the tournaments that's another matter, no player is loosing money but winner gets a price, that would be nice but playing 0AD like a poker game will be bad, it is bad in real poker too that's why in many countries playing with money is illegal. may be we should find some sponsors for that we have to create a community in social media like facebook instagram etc and be active in it always and keep promoting 0AD. people use discord but I think it's like dark web, nobody will every find out we exit. if 100 people are willing to do marketing for 0AD then the fate of 0AD will change. money will flow in with it new programming Talents who can contribute to 0AD

look how much time it takes to micro away from the pikeman and my cav died anyway, in 0AD time play a big factor. I feel pikemen is buffed too much. and even after hitting too many javelins pikeman is barely touched. watch the second video. pikeman is reasonably strong but still getting hit by javelins and eventually dies I had to micro hard though and wasted lot of time killing one pikeman.

ok will try that. but we can see the outcome of the new balancing changes in games we play, we should not shut eyes to that. also we should consider the opinion of players who has been playing this game for years, if they don't like the direction of balancing changes then we should not go that direction.

I don't think it is a good idea to make cavalry inferior to infantry. cavalry in history was superior to infantry if we change that for sake of a stupid balance issue 0AD will be a stupid game to play. I feel stupid playing with this new version if stronger units are useless in battle. if we are trying to make cavalry = infantry then reduce the food cost of cavalry 50 food 50 wood cav would make sense then. also why they die too fast?

I don't like this new version after playing for a while. can I vote again?

I think latest version has made the game harder. I prefer cavalry to be more effective but the new version made them weak, may be we should add more speed to them?
