  2. Exactly. If we use the exponential model and choose the appropriate value for k then the problem would be solved. The extra range of archers would not increase its damage per second because each hit has been diminished so much by the long distance.

  5. This would nerf the archers Archers going for shorter distance means melds can reach them more easily. Therefore they are less of a threat.
  6. I think you need to convince Vali to register an account on 0ad.mod.io and submit his mod there. Then he will request ltms for approval and once it is approved you can use it.

  8. Here is my mod for the camp according to nani. Changes: 1. Health decreased from 2250 to 1500 2. Maximum garrison is 30 units 3. Maximum arrow count decreased from 15 to 7 4. Capturepoints decreased from 1500 to 1000rome-camp.zip 5. Capable of all Roman siege and ram (if captured by other civ), but rate of production decreased from 0.7 to 0.49. 6. Maximum range of defensive arrows is now 40 metres with damage 6.7 instead of 10. 7. Default arrow is 1 instead of 3.

  10. In comparison 0AD is already much better in this respect compared to other games. I am sure all CSGO players are aware of Suka Blyat (excuse me). CSGO players shout it out without feeling any need to control their rudeness, but most other players don't take them seriously.
  11. Toxicity is difficult to control. Even if you ban the use of swear words, the smart people can find alternative ways to upset you. When it comes to dealing with humanity just some clever computer code will never solve the problem completely; one can always paraphrase and even invent new phases to insult. We can only remove the incentive for people to be rude. People like Melusines whose 'profession' is to insult are rare, just report them to the lobby supervisor and ban them. I have only seen one or two during my entire experience with 0AD. Other people insult when they are enraged. This could be caused foul play of another player or frustration over other issues. This often won't last long. So either ban or ignore. If these people are ignored they will realise that spamming profanity doesn't work and they will become bored.

  15. That is exactly why I want to give these two civs some other push options. Maybe a heave skirmisher champion or a spearman for Ptolemies?
  16. Nice one alre. A physically more accurate model would be A*exp(-kx), where A is attack strength at point blank range, k is some constant value and x distance. But this might take up more processing because of more maths.
