  1. The reason why they ban archer civs is because archer civs are too overpowered. Mauryans and Persians have pop bonus which is OP if you use them. Archers are too strong in this release so they ban it to prevent the archers from taking out everyone in 15 minutes. This is quite the opposite of not good at civs. If they are willing to ban archer civs then they must be quite good at all other civs as well. Non-archer civs: (merc archers): Ptol, Sele, Mace, Athen (strictly no archers): Sparta, Rome, Brit, Gaul, Iber Out of these my personal favourite is Mace, but you be deadly if you play any of these well.
  2. Sorry I don't understand what you are talking about. The thing is, most players above 1500 don't have any civ that they are not experienced in.
  3. I have been on A25 for a long time and I have noticed that units march in a dense crowd when they move, as opposed to keeping some distance in previous alphas. This both has advantages and disadvantages, but it is nothing that needs to be changed. I would still prefer faster and more agile cavalry because rushing is still difficult, although it is easier to manoeuvre large groups of units now. In terms of engine performance... no change. I haven't dared to crank up the graphics settings on my laptop.

  5. Pikes should not be longer than 6 metres because that would become unrealistic. The longest sarissa was 6 metres and it was already bending. Longer pikes put more tension in the material and very few materials back in 0AD can withstand such stress, while being of a reasonable mass.
  6. I am afraid I don't have a few hours every day... I am a student and immediately after my exams I need to start working through a 2000 pages maths textbook and finish that before the start of my university career. But yes, thank you for the advice.
  7. Actually I have managed to add damage textures but they are ugly. I think my problem is not with the technical bit but artistic taste, which is much harder to acquire than operating blender.
  8. Can we make it visible for other factions as well please? Actually I think I can make a mod for this. But @Stan` or any other artist can you make some models for damaged buildings please?
  9. Hmm Alexander Ho Megas of Macedon against Achaemenid Persians sounds like a good campaign. However, no 'Centurions saving princesses' please, that is too pointless: if a princess needs to be saved then she clearly is not strong enough to fight alongside me, and therefore there is no point in saving her. To be honest I would much prefer playing against real humans to bot-controlled units because I would be able to predict what move they make, then it becomes a contest of brutality, especially if you are the programmer behind it. However, we can try campaigns where you have to fight off a much larger force with less units than the bot.
  10. @Stan` what are you doing with my git pull request, it seems to be pending and the main repository has not been updated.
  11. I think some of these techs are quite legit, for example lowering costs of siege weapons. But sure, I can delete them.
  12. If we don't put the techs there it will return errors, saying missing tech. It is still using A23 mindset. My name is there so if something goes wrong you know it is my fault and you can ask me to fix it. Also to distinguish it from the original version.

  14. Changes: 1. Declared the mod as compatible with A25 2. Gave Umayyads ram and siege tower. I have not done intensive testing of the mod yet, but my instinct tells me that it works and all factions deserve some sort of siege engine. The structure tree loads perfectly.
  15. I have slightly edited the code for Millenium AD mod for A24 on github. Can @Stan` and @Lion.Kanzen give me permission to push please?
  16. I totally agree with your DPS argument. Can't argue against the maths. Should we increase melee DPS or decrease ranged DPS?
  17. Ok I fixed pretty much everything apart from balancing. We need to consult balancing advisors because this civ is rubbish right now.   18. ok... I have fixed most of the templates and when I laid them out, I realised we basically have a copy of Seleucids...
  19. That means I will borrow Persian house models, because Ptol houses are 5 pop and I don't want to confuse people. Can I just borrow Athenian models then?
  20. List of props and unit actors that need to be fixed: 1. Spearman actor is missing 2. Archers are missing a longbow prop 3. Cavalry Javelineers are missing their rider and javelin
  21. No problem. I am editing the template xml files. I will push to git when I am finished. If there are missing models I will use ptol or sele models.
  22. Have you made any additional models for the Judeans? Right now their biggest problem is missing icons and models. I sorted out the templates.
  23. I didn't notice I was too focused on the action and did not inspect individual models carefully.
