Paal_101 replied to chichigrande's topic in Introductions & Off-Topic Discussion
Totally Flames! I was going for Vancouver, but the Flames have been buzz-sawing everyone B-) Tampa Bay, like you said Sorge, is a travesty on hockey, plus th Flyers have more muscle than brains *Wonders where cow bell and cowboy hat are* -
If you could capture one history event..

Latin is a cool language, and that when you think of it is probably the greatest gift the Romans gave civilization in general: it allowed people to go back to ancient texts and learn during the Middle Ages, bringing on the Renaissance (sp?) -
Okay, so for you guys here she is again..

If you could capture one history event..
Paal_101 replied to DarkAngelBGE's topic in Introductions & Off-Topic Discussion
Hmm... I'd probably want to capture the Battle of Chalons on video tape, since it was the last great battle of the Roman Empire, stopping the Huns from going ape all over Western Europe....or so the propaganda says Okay, even if the Huns did invade Italy the following year, it made them think twice and made them retreat to Hungary. It allowed the peoples of Dark Age Europe to develope in relative safety. Sort of a last gift to humanity from Rome -

Paal_101 replied to chichigrande's topic in Introductions & Off-Topic Discussion
Without a doubt Matt, you know have a new slave to make your bed, brush your teeth, fix you snacks, turn on the TV, do your homework, and answer the phone Personally I'd never bet my freedom, but to each his own B-) -
Glad I have a partner in this 'ole spirit! :P Same here I am single and LOVING IT My focus is on career and education. Once I'm set up I'll start looking around, but at this point its a non-starter. Besides a GF would only distract me while I'm working on getting my career going. Personally I can't see myself gettin married before 28, but stranger things have happened. Yah for the single guys! EDIT: that was a lot of smilies!

What Kind Of Job Do You See Me Having?
Paal_101 replied to Paal_101's topic in Introductions & Off-Topic Discussion
Thanks guys! The reason I'm considering a change is because of how I'm doing in Bio and Chem. They are both introductory courses, but I have to constantly fight to get 75%-80% which is not going to cut it So I've been thinking I need to find a job that is supported by my strong subjects: practical Math, English, History, Geography, IT, Visual Arts, stuff like that. Theoretical-style science just doesn't work for me I've been thinking several options: Paramedic Military Archaeologist Police Officer Journalist University Professor (in history of course ) -
I know that's a weird title, but I've been doing some rethinking of my career plan and M.D. doesn't seem to be in my future. I also know that many of you don't know me very well, buty I'll ask the question: What kind of job do you see me having? According to the various career polls I've taken I am an information junkie, I know I like to help people, like physical activity, and am interested in public service. Not much to go on but I'm fishing Thanks guys!!

YEAH!! A really good Vietnam-era flight sim would rock! Could have the sides like so: Americans: F-4 Phantom II F-105 Thunderchief A-4 Skyhawk A-6 Intruder F-8 Crusader A-7 Corsair II B-52 Stratofortress A-1 Skyraider North Vietnam: MiG-17 Fresco MiG-19 Farmer MiG-21 Fishbed Can't remember if the NV used anything else besides those three Wouldn't you love to go intercept F-105s in a MiG-21MF?

Like Malte said, the reason I posted them was because Israel has possibly the best trained military in existence and if there was a WWIII scenario for a game like this, Iran or India could come west Another reason I put Israel in the list was so one could have Galil and Desert Eagle action Israel may be a whole lot smaller than the others on the list, but militarily they kick serious backside LOL I don't watch the Simpsons

I'm 200 pounds spot on. Actually I recently lost 20 pounds with.....ahem....*blushes*.... Dr. Phil's Ultimate Food Guide Trust me it works! 20 pounds in 5 weeks, and I wasn't hungry at all I do have to say, being 6'2 and 200 pounds is a big asset in karate B-)

LOL guys! *shameless plug* I would love to make a realistic modern infantry FPS, with every weapon in the book along with tanks, APCs, trucks, helicoptors, boats, landmines, fighters, attack planes, and WWIII Imagine 8 choices: USA Russia China Israel Britain Germany India Iran Could be fun no?

LOL anything Greek Mike I voted pyramids, being among the biggest structures ever constructed by man!

I know that in many cases they wrists and heels were nailed, either on a traditional T-cross or an X-cross. In one book I read it told of how archaeologists found the remains of a man who had been crucified. Instead of just breaking his legs, the Romans actually cut his feet off *agrees with ElfTheHunter*

I haven't seen the movie, but one comment I'd like to make (as a Christian) is that IMHO the gore is over done. The clip I saw had the part where Pilate says "Here is the man!" and Jesus is standing next to him beaten to a bloody mess. When I saw that the first thing that went through my head was "You only have 6 litres of blood in you!" When I heard that Mel Gibson was doing the movie I thought "Get ready for some blood and guts." Now obviously I've never seen a cruscifixion, but from what I've read and heard about I don't think it would be nearly as bloody as Mel made it. That is not to detract from anything, and like I said I haven't seen the movie. But that's my thought

I'm 6'2, what about you guys? I actually haven't grown a whole lot in the last little bit, but when I was 13-16 I could barely keep my closet filled with clothes I was growing so fast :self-bash: - LOL I can't get over that smilie!

How To Get My Mother Through This Problem ?
Paal_101 replied to DarkAngelBGE's topic in Introductions & Off-Topic Discussion
Anybody got a virus quaraintined on their computer that we could e-mail them? LOL Sorry to hear how lousy things are Tim All I can say is you and your mom hang tight and stick together on this. I'm no lawyer and I don't know anything about the law, but there has to be some way to report harassment legally. BTW, I'd be happy to show up with my karate club
