  1. Are you talking about the "Cinematic videos" such as Vladislav Belov videos uploaded on YouTube? If thats true, that is an awesome news! And finally, my personal congrats to @BrynnOfCastlegate! Your videos are very professional and sure they are a very positive effort to support 0ad project the amazing project it is.
  2. Every time you guys release a new alpha of 0ad, it comes with a wonderful video with most of the "changelog". Better than a visual changelog, its all these "video changelogs"! So, my question is: who is responsible for these videos? And, obviously, congrats for the ones responsible for them.
  3. Hello everybody! ReactOS is an open-source operating system for x86/x64 PCs intended to be binary-compatible with computer programs and device drivers made for Windows Server 2003. This year (2016) they have announced the formal release of version 0.4.0. Take a look at its features! - https://www.reactos.org/project-news/reactos-040-released So, my questions is: is anyone here able and willing to test 0 A.D. and try to run 0 A.D. on it? Regards, Sturm
  4. Upping the topic! Two questions! 1- Was this video released under a CC license? - 2- What is the license of the main 0 ad Mods? Are they also released under a CC-BY-SA 3.0? Regards, Sturm
  5. Hi there! Is there a list of all phrases used in the game? It would be nice to offer a way for players to understand what is being said... I mean, at least to "google" the greek-latin motto and then get a proper translation! Do you think subtitles (not translating, but actually a written version of what is being said) are a good idea?
  6. Ok, just another silly user asking for new features, but... here we go! What do you think about turn water as the fifth natural resource necessary for the development of the civilization? I know that it may add some coding difficult, but well, water is BASIC for life and may add not just more realism to the game, but if well implemented, may turn the civilization's development more challenging.
  7. Thank you! Probably my final question: Are those files the highest resolution available?
  8. Thank you for your answer, Sanderd17. Looking to the images under both links, I am unable to identify non-free material there, as most if not all images seems to be produced for the game itself and by Wildfire volunteers, released in a website the uses a CC license. I am a long time volunteer on Commons, over 10 years, and I can tell that most (not all, true) are valuable to the project. Regards, Sturm
  9. Sorry for "up" this question, but... Is there a way to mass download the building and units concepts to upload them to Commons, as they were released as CC-BY-SA 3.0? - http://play0ad.com/media/building-concepts/ - http://play0ad.com/media/unit-concepts/ Regards, Sturm
  10. If someone could make one (or some) video or even .gifs not about the game itself, but using the game to teach about: - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_infantry_tactics - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phalanx - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Wonders_of_the_Ancient_World - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pillars_of_Ashoka - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apadana - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_of_Vesta - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanchi And so on... I am quite sure that we will be able make many other 0ad Featured Medias on Commons. By the way, any news about the Cinematic camera videos? - Finally, is there a way to mass download the building and units concepts to upload them to Commons? Regards, Sturm
  11. The video was elected and I suggested to be show as Media of the Day on July 10, 2016: 0ad anniversary! - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Template:Potd/2016-07 Regards, Sturm
  12. Hello everybody. Just to let you know, I proposed the release video about the "0 A.D. Alpha 12 Loucetios" for "Media of the Day" on Wikimedia Commons. The video needs 7 votes supporting to be featured on the project's Main page. - https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Featured_picture_candidates/File:0_A.D._Alpha_12_Loucetios.webm Questions - Why an Alpha 12 video? A: Because is one of the most beautiful 0AD videos. - May I vote? A: Editors whose accounts have at least 10 days and 50 edits can vote. Regards, Sturm
  13. Hello everybody, As 0 A.D. does not have its own wiki and its Wikipedia articles cannot receive any other information than encyclopedic stuff... why not create a Mediawiki wiki for the game, and then much more players and enthusiasts of this fabulous game could help to create documentation, changelogs, lists of factions etc. - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=0_A.D._version_history&oldid=583194314 - https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/0_A.D.#Civiliza.C3.A7.C3.B5es Regards, Sturm Addendum: I just saw this post ( http://wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17283&hl=mediawiki ), but I still think that a wiki using a standard Mediawiki could be more efficient.
  14. Several collaborative projects seek for help in places where there are people with common interests and also who are able to assist in an objective manner. I think that, in 0a.d. case, this target are the courses of design, game design and 3D modeling. So, why not create a graphic material, like handout or a small brochure, to be printed and taken to the students and teachers of these courses showing what is the 0a.d. project and how they can contribute to the game, under activities conducted within their own courses? Instead of learning design models with no greater purpose tasks or modeling for simple, boring and fictional games, they could perform at least minor tasks in a large project with global visibility just like 0a.d. Why not? A mini tutorial for students and teachers related to game design courses showing them how they can start contributing to the project. We could translate and disseminate it in universities around the world.
  15. Thank you for the fast answer, Lion. But I still dont get it. I know its a mod, but the open license used in the game allows you all to merge just citing the authors of the mod, nope? You may see that my question is the same of many people, as you can read in the Mod's forum, where someone wrote months ago, for example: "btw: i really can't understand why this isn't an official part of 0AD, have you ever thought of making your mod part of the game itself?". The questions was answered by WFG-Kimball, who stated that "Part of the reason we chose to remain independent was to serve as a proof for the community. A few of us are also members of WFG, and we'd like to show the community what the engine is capable of and hopefully encourage people to try some modding of their own as a result." But again, I think that most people finds out the joining the same group could be better than splitting up. I know its a not a consensus, but...
  16. Hi all, Firstly, I would like to praise all people envolved in 0 AD, certainly one the best open games (and even compared to the closed ones) I've ever seen. Sorry about my poor English also, it is not my mother language. So, I would like to ask what is exactly the relation between the The Rise of the East mod ( http://www.moddb.com/mods/rote ) and the original game? Why all the artwork done to the Rise of the East are not merged into the original game? Besides, I can suggest you all to search for "Atlas of World History" in Pirate Bay and get some .pdf that can inspire for future features in the game. http://thepiratebay.sx/search/Atlas%20of%20World%20History/0/99/0 Congrats again and best wishes form Brazil, Sturm
