  1. Imperator is another. Means "leader" or "commander," although that isn't as interesting as some of the other mythologically-based suggestions.
  2. To add to this: Republican Rome faction, including brand new building set and all units.
  3. Yup. Latest binaries from SVN. Difficult to reproduce. I do know I've had similar crashes.
  4. And it really messed up a huge map I was working on. Lost a bunch of progress. pyrogenesis.zip
  5. SVN version or Alpha 8?
  6. Real balancing will start in Alpha 9, since it will include Attack Bonuses (paper-paper-rock-rock-scissors-scissors). These are already in the SVN version of the game, actually.
  7. We'll have capturable cattle, sheep, goats, etc. Just haven't implemented the capturing feature yet.
  8. Yeah, but you're also playing as Persians, so it's not an accurate test if Persians are "too weak" or not.
  9. There's an idle worker button next to the minimap.
  10. Looking good. A few things (of course!): I'd make the sun angle less vertical. It makes weird shadows on the slopes. Plus a slightly lower angle gives nicer shadows from trees and buildings.Make sure the terrain beneath the starting Civic Centres is flat. The cliffs should probably be 3x taller. Keep up the good work. My main issue is with terrain blending. Keep experimenting.
  11. Right, so they are trained with Elite stats from the get-go and don't have promotions, while gaining citizen-soldier ability to gather and build.
  12. What if when the player chooses Ptolemaic Egypt, the Machimos becomes available as the Citizen-soldier Infantry Spearman (replacing the Pezhetairos), then the Pezhetairos becomes a Mercenary (its Food cost becomes Metal cost).
  13. He doesn't mean that it's hard coded in the game's EXE, only that proper mod support for civs is not implemented yet. I could be wrong.
  14. The SpecificNames for the Greeks are supposed to be transliterations (I thought so anyway). What's the Greek for Teikhisma/Teichisma? Does it use Kappa or Chi?
  15. I don't think they're "hard coded," they're just difficult to add at this point by editing a bunch of javascript files.
  16. Is there a 'c' in the Ancient Greek alphabet? I think not.
  17. Excellent! Here's their Wiki entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Excubitors
  18. Hi, Josef. What kinds of things would you be interested in modeling and texturing for the game?
