Thx! By the way, yeah there are 2 more hoplites: Classical hoplite as spearman and more advanced/Macedonian hoplite as pikeman; I have planned to make the halberdier a Roman spearman (auxiliary infantry). Oh and there is still a problem I need to solve: I dont have poser spear attack animations. About buildings, there is a problem, I didnt include any Germans but just Romans, Greeks, Celts, and a couple Carthaginians and Persians (if I ever finish this). I would like to use Roman RAW's buildings if Wijit lets me , because I dont have any skill making buildings. The language dll thing, yes!! It would be pretty useful I was very restricted giving names to units, so now I can change them to the ones I need, cool thx!
  4. Yumm, AOK isnt dead! I am resurrecting the very origin of the 0ad game!! I will post a list of the things I am doing. Right now I am almost finished with these 3: MILITES Replacement of: Militia. Weapon: Short sword Armor: Bronze Corynthian style helmet without crest, medium size bronze-wood round shield. Wearing: Barefooted, tunic with short sleeves. History: Not based from a specific nation and it fits Greeks, early Romans, Carthaginians, Macedonians... It resembles a typical light infantry soldier of the Bronze age. Aprox time period: 1000 BC to 300 BC. HASTATUS Replacement of: Man at Arms. Weapon: Short sword. Armor: Bronze helmet, bronze breastplate, bronze greaves, oval shield. Wearing: Sandals, tunic with short sleeves. History: Based on the Roman republican hastati troops in sword mode, though the difference with them is that these didn't carry 2 greaves but only 1. The look of this soldier fits for many Mediterranean civilizations. Aprox time period: 500 BC to 100 BC. (Credit to Irishstag for the shield texture) HOPLITE SWORDSMAN Replacement of: Long swordsman. Weapon: Short sword. Armor: Bronze Corynthian style helmet with crest, lynen cuirass, skirt with leather straps (pteriges), bronze greaves, large bronze round shield (hoplon). Wearing: Sandals, tunic with short sleeves. History: Based on a hoplite in sword mode from the Peloponesian Wars to Roman era. Aprox time period: 500 BC to 180 BC. CELT WARRIOR Replacement of: Berserk. Weapon: Long sword. Armor: Iron helmet, oval shield. Wearing: Long pants, shoes, no wearing on torso. History: A typical celt warrior. Aprox time period: 1500 BC to 100 AD. (Credit to Irishstag for the shield texture) More to come Note: As I am not allowed to post more images here scroll down the topic for more units
  5. When I am at class (college), whenever the teacher stops explaining, or repeats something already explained or does something I am not interested into taking notes, I am ALWAYS drawing in my papers (or even the table ). Always You look at my class stuff and you can see a whole mess of class notes and drawings. And what I draw? hehe.. ancient and medieval warriors, fantasy warriors like dwarves etc, movie characters (Agent Smith is drawn in my table), cars, tanks, planes, weird vehicles, funny things and all that kind of stuff
  6. Today, 2nd and last match: Norway 0 Spain 3
  7. S-P-A-I-N !! S-P-A-I-N !! S-P-A-I-N !! (I'm Spanish, didnt you know )
  8. I found this news headline at AOKH that you might like and find useful for 0ad: -------------------------- Instant Kills in AoE III? Posted on November 4, 2003 2:05PM by Aro Clam_Knight posted about an interesting idea he came up with in the Age of Empires III Discussions forum that would increase the realism in a new game by ES. this idea, would be like, a unit could sometimes perform an "instant kill" attack, in which it would kill the opposing unit instantly. The chance of an "instant kill" would vary from unit to unit...here's an example -An archer would have like 1/500 chances of "instant killing" a Paladin, where as a longbowman might be like 1/300, and a halberdier would be like 1/150 or something. The units would still have there HP, but their HP could be completly depleated with the "instant kill". Also, certain units would have a greater chance of getting or resisting an "instant kill" Sounds to me like it'd be a good idea. 9. Is it only multiplayer? Does it have bots to play against?
  10. Cool, I will download it. I hope it's worth the size
  11. Actually I liked AoM more in its early stages before turning into another typical RTS. Before that it had huge ships (never seen in any game) and huge walls (only one I've seen is Stronghold). That's where 0ad should kick in: big ships, big walls, big towers, big buildings, big battles, and the rest of stuff like every typical RTS

Jason I got your last email, I will start something as soon as I can. One comment about the military centre, yeah I think they are too much buildings combined in one . AOK archery range, barracks, stables, siege workshop and blacksmith vs one building for all? well if you want it that way... I will do

    Sketches

My current adress is the one of Msn messenger Btw, is there any picture for building layouts like that old one with squares and cilinders? you know
  14. Hey Wijit I was wondering if you need some sketches, like in the old times Would you need anything or are you guys already covered up with enough sketch drawers? If you need tell me Sadly my old scanner is not compatible with winXP so I would have to use it with the old computer, which I will be fixing this week and could scan stuff.
  15. I am studying for biologist and have no idea what I will be: teacher? scientist? serious, no idea
  16. What happened to the old idea of ships as big floating pieces of terrain with units and stuff inside? I would vote a size about 4 times AOK ships
  17. With 6 years old, without choice: The Last Emperor (man oh man...) With choice: I think it was Jurassic Park
