  1. Locking this as the poster doesn't seem to even be talking about 0 A.D. What would jumphacking even mean in this game? And we certainly can't be watching each and every match people plays, so that suggestion is not going to work at all. If someone, even Bobo_1, has got suggestions which are relevant to this game, then they can start a new topic, but posting things which are completely irrelevant is not going to lead anywhere.

  2. I've search a bit about Yoddha warriors, but just to see that they were men living a war-way of life, heavily armored wielding a broad sword or sometime an Indian mace. But not much more about them which could make them different from just an elite infantry. About chariots they were kind of outdated already (the Persian ones being more prestigious than effective). Still it had an interesting combo with an archer or javelinist that could attack while the chariot was charging (moreover with the scynthe on Persian ones). I have found that cavalry didn't engaged the infantry directly but was very strong when it came to strike from the side or back. They were often deployed on the flanks mainly to prevent the other cavalry to flank them... Once the cavalry battle was over, they wold join the infantry from the side or the back. From the spear vs sword debate, if the spear takes the swordman down before being at range, the spear won. If it miss, the sword would take advantage of closer range.

  3. Agree. In cavalry duel spear become useless against sword. Spear good for charge and attack enemies on foot from saddle.

  4. for the record, I agree with Lion.Kanzen here. While battalions would make the battles look great, and I LOVE the idea of banner units and noisemakers, I think individual units makes the game more charming. If you play Age of Empires, where each unit is an individual, the player feels more "connected" persay with that unit, and will tend to micro more effectively, to make sure the least number of units die as possible. As opposed to a Rise of Nations player, who will just send units willy-nilly, because they can create a large army on a short notice due to its batallion system. Also, it is a lot more impressive to build a large army from individuals then a bunch of large units. If the battalion system was implemented as a mod, that would be awesome, but I think it should not be in vanilla. I love the idea though! Well done!

  6. From my pov Lord of the Rings battalion system/combat with flanking and formations was a great example how one can implement tactics into RTS combat.

  7. Simple, the lance is too cumbersome to waive around and duel with swords...
