This mod reports gameplay that should not be possible in 0 A.D. without mods. Currently, in 4v4 matches, new or aspiring players are never informed about which mods are being used or how they affect gameplay. Instead, it’s implicitly assumed that everyone already knows the players and their supporting mods. With these quick in-game messages, players at least receive basic information and can further discuss the implications - whether in the match itself or on the forums. Quick start triggers the chat message: "Units receives automated commands by %(player)s at turn %(turn)s (v01)" Clicking tools like the razor rapid fire triggers the chat message: "Automated clicker makro detected by %(player)s(v01)" If a player does not send a command in 30 seconds triggers the chat message: "%(player)s has not send a command in 30s (v01)" Market Exploit "%(player)s has bought %(buy)s shortly after selling it for %(sell)s (v01)" Elexis set up the mod template for me to fill. Lag is atm. not accounted for, so during heavy lag it could trigger false positives. I tested it in a few games and didn't had false positives. Report if it behaves weird and some thresholds should be changed. Unfortunately, there are serious issues with this version. For example, champions are broken units — they are extremely strong with very high HP. Some players, especially ecobot players, always play as pocket and spam champions nonstop, using the proGUI cheat or even without it. An army of 30–40 champions, especially with hero bonuses, can easily destroy a normal army. Spearmen and pikemen are supposed to counter cavalry, but they are ineffective against cavalry champions, who are extremely fast and impossible to chase down. In addition, champions can capture a Civic Center (CC) in less than 10 seconds. Once a player loses their CC, all their buildings are lost within a few seconds, often before their allies even have a chance to support them. Another major problem is that some players rush the enemy base together in phase 1 or 2, capturing the CC in seconds. Again, by the time allies can react, it’s already too late. Also, the change to left-click attack feels terrible. Left-click capture was much better and more intuitive. Now, having to press C and then left-click to capture is really annoying and clunky. In A26, a group of players created a community mod to balance the game. It was a good initiative, got a lot of positive feedback from many players, and improved over time. I had hoped the developers would use it to balance A27, but sadly they proved that player feedback isn’t important to them.1 point

I would like to share some engine changes that I made locally to A27-0 release. Feel free to apply my patch and rebuild for better performance / more features. Core changes: 1. Turn off Nursery Heuristic (Dunedan's performance patch) which greatly increases fps in fights. 2. Does not write config strings to mainlog.html but prints out in console instead. This shortens the mainlog by a lot of spam, especially if you use Autociv and / or ModernGUI 3. Prettier console with less transparent background, better cursor, larger fonts etc 4. Prints out every step of the handshake process when joining / hosting a game. This allows you to see why you can't join someone or who is the "unknown player" that failed to join you. The "unknown player" often freezes the host and ruins the game as the host doesn't know which username to kick. 5. Network warnings if the ping is more than 200ms. The default warning time is scaled with turn time, so sometimes the game might freeze due to bad conn but still you couldn't tell who was the cause. sevda.diff1 point

I think you can try to account for lag by scaling the threshold with the game's simulation rate. Also I think the default chat message could be rephrased a bit so that it sounds less accusative, e.g "Oddity detector detected %player sent %number_of_inputs commands at turn %turn, we suspect this may be automated, but could be caused by natural factors, so please calm down. ". You can also consider limiting the recipients so that not everyone in the room freaks out. The mod caused some drama today and ruined a TG that I was hosting:1 point

@Stan` @real_tabasco_sauce The mouse cursor "lag" on Windows is completely gone for me when I play only on the external monitor connected to my laptop via HDMI. If I duplicate the screen, it lags. So, a viable workaround is to get an external monitor and rearrange the multiple displays to show only on the external monitor display. GUI scale option can be used to adjust the UI. EDIT: It is not external monitor, but the scale set in Windows display settings. See below.1 point

Of course they would, every army in the ancient world had diverse military units. The challenge is to stick to what differentiated them one from another for gameplay balance and sheer fun factor. To give examples from the game: 1) Giving Persians more cavalry choice because they were renowned for it, 2) Giving Romans great sword infantry because they were feared for it, 3) Giving Spartans one-man armies early, and Leonidas, 4) Giving Gauls crazy units because the French always were a bit on the goofy side1 point

There is no "0.a.d" here, it's a community and no one earns anything for developing or creating mods, so as a tip, help the team with your knowledge or something like that ( at least respect or constructive criticism), since the game is not paid.1 point

This mod nerfs Elephants significantly less useful. I made this mod because I play with a friend and they ALWAYS use war elephants to make their ENTIRE army. This makes them far less viable to use for an entire army. 0ad-elephant-nerf.zip0 points
