  1. I would say medium, hard, and very hard should use all features (barter, heroes, etc). It would be dull to have to up the difficulty just to see enemy traders or heroes. I wouldn't want the core experience to change as the difficulty rises. I would prefer the AI to expand territory faster, gather resources quicker, and use much more advanced battle tactics and strategy as the difficulty goes from medium to very hard.

  2. It certainly can, it uses instruments that originated in both Japan (Taikos, Koto etc) and China (Guzheng, Erhu etc). By using a blend of instruments from different origins, the music doesn't sound typical of any specific culture - and I think it can reasonably apply to many different things.

  3. I've been making music inspired by traditional Asian music for ever now, just waiting for an Asian civ. to be added to the game So yea, I'm all for it!

  4. Aha, that should be fixed in SVN, they shouldn't be placeable anymore. If you want to place eyecandy rubble, you have to select them in the actors list (instead of the entities list). Actors are just models that don't interact with the simulation in any way. And all models present in the game (even partial models like helmets, shields, ...) can be found under the actors list.

  8. Use the backport of the game : https://packages.debian.org/fr/wheezy-backports/0ad unless you want to build via svn (You'll be able to use cheats in the alpha XVI wich is the one in the backports) EDIT : here is the command-line

  10. Well some art has to be done before beta. We don't have all meshes yet. And a lot of programming bugs/enhancement/additions have still to be done.
