Oh, I though it was a bug, there being no capture, and a very low damage amount. I guess it is helpful to fully read the stats, not just part
-
How is that not useful? its 0 pop, and cost 60 total resourecs Its not a champion though.... from what I have read about them, they were former slaves who were city "police" type units. So they are 0 pop (but lmitied) they have increased vision. They are more for patrolling and helping you notice any threats.
-
So, I noticed the Athenian Champion Archer that you train from the cc isn't very useful (I assume a bug)
-
Ok, I guess I miss read it or something. Silly me

City phase? City phase is pretty normal and standard.
-
But I was having trouble getting city phase as Roman, I think it said I need a structure of empire phase to get it. So I assumed that was bug
-
That is the generic empire phase. The civ specific one replaces the generic

Is this a bug in the empire phase file? How would it replace empire phase if it is empire phase? "replaces": [ "phase_empi" ],

exciting. ill be keeping tabs because i think they would all look neat in the 0ad engine

The concern about "protecting privacy and security" doesn't feel entirely convincing, given that the current hot-seat setup already leaves privacy and security largely in the hands of the players. For instance, anyone hosting a game can see connecting IP addresses and can already run the game on a modified host anyway. As for the second account, it didn't seem like uff was trying to hide anything, especially since the username was so similar to his main one. It looks like he only did it to work around current system limitations so he could actually host and play at the same time. I actually had similar ideas about setting up my own hosts, but I didn't want to pay for a GPU-enabled hosting service, and I haven't yet found the time to modify the engine. Specifically, it requires decoupling XMPP from the GUI in C++, exposing the Lobby API to headless mode, and writing an autostart JS script to manage the server without rendering. IMHO, volunteer-run hosts significantly improve matchmaking queue times, ultimately making the game much more accessible to everyone.

Also, nothing is more discouraging to me when I sign in to the forums then to see 50+ bot spam posts in Russian.

LOL I literally just added this to Hyrule Conquest the other day, what a coincidence

Asher started following 0 A.D. Is Wasting Its Potential !

I haven't put much thought into the minor factions yet, but yeah they're mostly going to be filling niches that other races don't expand on, or to add to races that don't have a feature (like Wizzrobes mages to help out the magic-less Moblins). Volvagians are definitely going to be a heavy unit group, focusing on fire damage and siege. Subrosians will mostly focus on mining and upgrades, with a boomerang unit and some weak melee stuff Huskus will be a strange mix of expensive units with a high damage output and swarm units that are almost useless.
-
I agree that 0ad is wasting its potential, but I don't think the scenario should be the absolute priority, I think the better immediate step is working out the multiplayer mostly an anticheat, account management etc to push the game to mainstream platforms like steam. once more people notice, the additional interest should drive people into creating content and improving the game, the opposite is having a well polished game that no one knows about.
