Ok, I will make it a bit bigger. I think what makes the proportions odd is that I have just one floor/story, but with two levels of elevated ground. The wooden floor were the presses are placed is a little higher than the stone floor. That's why I need the ramp in front of the door. Then there are the two roofes with different elevation. As a result the bigger wing has a height of something in between a one-story-building and a two-story-building. I will figure out a way to fix it. But I don't want to loose the general layout, because it's kind of unique. Different from most of the other buildings, the olive presses are the main part and should somehow be in the middle. So it's not a closed building with props around it, but rather an "open" building with the main props right in the center.

ok, will scale it by 0.5 or 0.25, I'll see. I could exchange even more ao space for little more geometry: The ground floor is one big quad face, where only the sides are visible. I could spare the unvisible part inside, but this would mean 4 quads instead, so 2 tris -> 8 tris. I think that's worth it.

Nah that's actually pretty common in games to have a smaller second floor. Something we don't depict though is buildings usually had small doors because they kept the heat better that way.

You should yes Hopefully the added triangles won't be too bad.

Romans if you play with my bugfix mod. Being able to produce Civilians from Houses from the start of a match is crazy strong. Ptolemies also feels very strong due to cheaper buildings. I have read that most top-rated players judge Macedonians to be among the strongest Civs, but I don't fully understand why.

Athenian Olives

I do think it looks proportionally small compared to that farmstead. A person definitely have to duck to pass through the arch or to stand under the backside awning. With 0ad buildings, the first floor should look about 90% the correct height next to a civilian, while 2nd floors are only something like 60-70% height accurate. That's the "0ad proportions." -
When I ever do play any Playstation games my head also become hurt possibly from low frame rate, around 30fps, can also be motion sickness, or that your monitor has too much contrast/brightness the colour is tiring you, eye strain or could be anything really. Actually your fps is throttled both in menu and games, so increase it to 60, if you want precise use the scroll too. I think thats what causing you tired.

Resolving next turn pathfinding calculation
real_tabasco_sauce posted a topic in Gameplay Discussion
We currently calculate paths immediately for only 40 units, while the remainder figure out their path in time for the next turn. What this means unfortunately is that the remaining units have to stop for a whole turn and then accelerate from 0 m/s. Screen Recording 2026-03-28 195209.mp4 Instead, we can let units continue on their previous path so that they don't stop and have to re-accelerate. The downside here is that units will continue in the wrong direction a little if you tell them to make a 180 degree turn. Screen Recording 2026-03-28 194829.mp4 There are probably better long-term solutions, like giving large selections a really quick and dirty "guess" path before calculating the new paths. seem like an upgrade? -
This needs a custom decal and a new ao without the plants. It's a little dark inside so I'll try to bake it without the roof. Would you make a pull request then@wowgetoffyourcellphone? I can't really follow, the proportions are looking fine to me? I can add details to the back but I'm afraid it might look overcrowded.

My personal choice would be the Romans. Reason being that they have strong melee unit base, and solid cavalry. Their ranged units are lacking, for the lack of a better word. Marian Reforms unique tech can be powerful when timed correctly. I prefer their playstyle the most, and their units are very detailed. If I were more objective, the choice would be either Seleucids or Athenians.

I could manually scale down the hidden faces before packing

No warnings in log (if we're talking about those texts that show on the top left corner when the game becomes bugged). I haven't tried disabling GPU skinning, I don't remember ever tweaking with it. I've switched to Vulkan rendering ever since I downloaded A27 a while back, my GPU worked fine with it (I'm using a mac catalina). I really wish I was able to play A28, Delenda Est seems to be back, I think it's a great mod.

Do note that it reduces AO quality since the pieces take some space there

I'd really love to make them work like the Einherjar character from AOM.

Yep. I think the Parthenon could use that treatment too. And Greek docks. -

Oh my goodness. Awesome. -
@wowgetoffyourcellphone Scaled, changed proportions, the columns and the gate. I also added some more deco around the top and closed some supposedly "hidden" downward faces, because I could imagine a cutscene walking up the acropolis with the new camera path possibilities. The Nike sculptures are those from Athena Parthenos. temple_athena_nike.zip

This would 100% improve single player experience. We can also make the AI focus on certain units in future campaign scenarios, similar to how other RTS games have done it. Example, you would have 3 AI opponents and each opponent will focus on his own unique army. So, the player will have to adjust to 3 different armies at once and choose wisely which army to defeat first.
