niektb
Hi there! Some of you might know that there is an 0 A.D. release upcoming and as always we scheduled a release along with it but we need a release name for it. It should start with a 'C'. This new release features some additional content for the Anglo-Saxons so it would be nice to have the name related to that. Let us hear your suggestions!

Tomcelmare
Why not just "Mercia"? Sounds good to me...

Tiber7
I think this could fit very well : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comitatus_(classical_meaning) EDIT : because the French article is better if you understand it https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comitatus Edited October 24, 2016 by Tiber7
Tiber7
They used a sort of Comitatus system but they never mentioned it as Comitatus by the way. But historians do. Edited October 24, 2016 by Tiber7

Tiber7
I know these are few things and not that inspired words but it's hard to find a word starting with "C" and meaningful about the Anglo-Saxons. I'd say my best proposition is Comitatus. It's meaningful. It was used by the Anglo-Saxons even if they didn't make any reference of it under this name. And, last but not least, it could make players learn what Comitatus is.

shieldwolf23
My two cents worth: CEN The Anglo-Saxon poem gives the name cen "torch". The torch is known to every living manby its pale, bright flame; it always burnswhere princes sit within. see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaunan

niektb
I'm a bit stuck between Comitatus and Cen. Which one should we choose? (I'm a bit in favor of Cen because it's a word in the native language and has a nice poem along with it)
Stan`
I'd say Cen as well not sure we have much latin left in the civs for now ^^
