Itms
Hello everyone! As you may know, we're in the process of releasing the next alpha version of 0 A.D., Alpha XVII Quercus.Throughout several phases, we prepare the release to offer you a top quality, playable version with brand new features. For two weeks now, we've been in what we call the feature freeze. The idea is to stop adding new features, and focus on remaining bugs that could harm the players' experience. To spot bugs and fix them, we organized some Staff Multiplayer sessions the past weeks, but today, we'd like the entire community to lend us a hand and participate to this session! How to participate:This might be a bit tricky, but you'll have to install the development version of the game. You must follow the instructions that are given in this page: BuildInstructions.Windows users: you only have to follow these instructions, no need to compile the game and everything!Beware: This procedure is quite straightforward, but it can take much time, so prepare yourself in advance if you can...If you encounter problems, please post in this thread and we'll answer as soon as possible. We'll gather in the IRC channel #0ad (http://webchat.quakenet.org/?channels=0ad) at 18:00GMT. Go to this page to know which hour it will be in your local timezone. Objective:For this session, we must verify some memory issues have been fixed. So the idea will be to organize large games, 3v3 or even 4v4. Individualist players, you're warned! The principal objective is still to have fun together! We hope to see many of you tonight, to discover this preview and, hopefully, ensure we can release it really soon!Cheers

Tuux
Is it going to be repeated?
Stan`
Yeah at least on every release process. But in this case it was because they needed to test massive amount of players at the same time, and the team is not very numerous these days. Pureon
This multiplayer event happened on saturday 4th Oct.A few days after Alpha 17* is released we could organise another community multiplayer event, if you guys would like that?*We're almost ready for release, and as stated in the first post we've been staff testing the game for the past few weeks to make sure it's ready for you guys. We tested another 4 vs 3 game yesterday evening and it was quite laggy - some would say unplayable - so we don't recommend trying any games with more than 4 players, although it is possible
auron2401
Yes pureon, we see the big picture.But.. nobody said what timezone was involved. When i asked i was wondering if the event had happened already, considering i was in the future, namely sunday 5th. There was also no gather time.Things for next time: Timezone + Date/Time. This way people who are of seperate timezones to you don't have to go.. "herr, wutt".:/Would also love to have another community multiplayer event.maybe a tournament? feneur
Yeah, the text included "Go to this page to know which hour it will be in your local timezone." and that page automatically tells you what the time is in your local timezone. auron2401
oh.. uh.. Sorry I have a cold.I'm just used to it being in the header picture, i saw the "how to get svn" and presumed the rest of the text was relevant to that.I wish to make a complaint about how you make threads! Important information at the top and How-To's at the bottom!*nodding*
feneur
Well, technically speaking that is part of the how-to If you're not going to participate it's pretty irrelevant exactly when something takes place. However, if/when we do something like this in the future we'll try and advertise it more in advance which should avoid any today or tomorrow or yesterday issues.
