All the maps :

Old maps are not up to date and you need before to replace in the .xml some words like "mill->storehouse", "scout_tower->defense_tower", "civic_centre->civil_centre", "wall->medium_wall", etc.

Nice map. :victory: I'm guessing the buildings at the back are the Akropolis and Propylaia?

If seasonal changes that effect the game are implemented in the future, it would be awesome if the rivers on Mediterranean maps could be set to dry up, and the water on Egyptian maps could be set to flood. Both would have significant impacts on boat travel.

I love the Sparta Siege screenshot. Can I share them on our website & Facebook page? Could you take more screenshots of that map and some bigger ones? And could you please release them under cc-by or cc-by-sa? Thanks.

Of course, I release my maps under cc-by-sa, and you can share them. I took another screens of Sparta

Cool shots man! Don't forget the Propylaea and Stoa buildings. :D

I remade Athens map for the Alpha 2, unfortunately the Propylaea didn't insert between Acropolis and houses :). I project to remake Athens adding a piece of Salamis.

I thought that Sparta never had walls of stone because their men were their walls. Never the less, it's a great map

Well, that's kind of a misconception. It's true that throughout the Classical Age Sparta never had walls, but Sparta did build walls in the early Roman age when they rebelled against the local Roman governor. I think the usurper Nabis built the walls. I am not certain. Google him.

Hi, I come back after 4 months(I have my exams soon) with a new map, the Siege of Alesia. I made two versions, a huge version (the first I did) and a version light, without gates and less soldiers.

As you can see, your workers will work in the night (they don't have torches)...:D

@asmartgoat: I work on my maps only when I have time to waste, that's why I don't join a project for the moment.

Hey, why isn't there an Egyptian civilisation? I would have thought that they would be an automatic inclusion in the roster.

Egypt at this time was either a satrapy of Persia, or a Hellenistic (Greek) kingdom split from Alexander's empire. To add the Successor states of Alexander's empire might be a project I pursue after the game is released.

Hi yodaspirine,

Those maps are amazing,

I have a "Backup" of your maps over at http://0ad.me/Forum-Maps.

Feel free to take ownership of those at anytime, just PM me here or there.

Theres about 200+ Downloads of those maps, collectively.

Yeah, that is true. And Egypt was more prevalent before 1000BC. Egypt fell to the Persians in 343BC after a defeat.

Although heavily outnumbered, the Greek Allies were persuaded by the Athenian general Themistocles to bring the Persian fleet to battle again, in the hope that a victory would prevent naval operations against the Peloponessus. The Persian king Xerxes was also anxious for a decisive battle. As a result of subterfuge on the part of Themistocles, the Persian navy sailed into the Straits of Salamis and tried to block both entrances. In the cramped conditions of the Straits the great Persian numbers were an active hindrance, as ships struggled to maneuver and became disorganised. Seizing the opportunity, the Greek fleet formed in line and scored a decisive victory, sinking or capturing at least 300 Persian ships.

As a result Xerxes retreated to Asia with much of his army, leaving Mardonius to complete the conquest of Greece. However, the following year, the remainder of the Persian army was decisively beaten at the Battle of Plataea and the Persian navy at the Battle of Mycale.

From Wikipedia

Goals:

*Defeat Persian Navy

*Reconquer Athens and Piraeus

Bonus:

*Find all the Metal Barrels, Pegasus and the Golden Fleece in Athens and Piraeus

Psyttaleia placement is an error. Parthenon presence is a volunteer anachronism: it were built 3 years after the Battle of Salamis.

Hi! After a month without internet connexion at home, I finished a new snow map which looks like to some AOE maps : pass through ennemy lines to join safe area. It will appear in the demo maps menu. Unfortunately, with the health drain, some buildings will be destroyed, if a tool appears in Atlas which block health, I'll update the map ;)
