  1. Well, nothing really , they're quite nice actually, I suppose I'm not having any luck Even though I have a remarkable resemblance to Keanu Reaves, but then again Keanu is a B list celebrity anyway. Meh it's all good, it'll be game-on for me when colledge starts.
  2. if only it was USB. I love those USB coffee mug warmers and USB paper weights (with lights!)
  3. non serious relationship(s) between 8-12, and then I've mainly just been friends with girls right now. California girls suck, surprisingly
  4. Europe rules, though I'm currently in North America.
  5. that would be a "mini gun" I'm lame, I like bows and arrows, particularly the standard short/hunting bow.
  6. Nah Tim, my Keyboard is pro It's special, and besides only 4 of the key's color has rubbed off the Keyboard is by Ideazon, Ensemble Studios sent it to me because I'm so special
  7. I used to be the Scenario Design Library administrator and Angel at www.aom.heavengames.com, but I resigned my position to make more time for 0AD work.
  8. I used to look at the keyboard when I type, but I don't anymore. I don't have to. Some of the keys have actually worn off on my keyboard so you don't know which letter the key is, yet I can still type because I don't look at the keys
  9. by the way, if you look at the center of each of the parts, the gradient illusion effect isn't there I wonder what else there is to discover about this trippy triangle lol
  10. well obviously, everyone wants it now now now But that's not the case for us, it's alot of work and it's not easy. Furthermore this isn't a full time job so we can't put as much time into it as other gamedevelopers who are doing this full-time. I voted don't rush it
  11. The really froody and trippy Triangle! Alright, I was making some diagrams and images for some WFG work, when I noticed that this triangle was abit weird. Now it all depends on where you look at it. To help describe this, note that the triangle is in 4 parts, those 4 parts being the different colored section. Illusion 1: Look at the top section of the 3rd part (or the 2nd part). Does the color there look darker than the bottom of that part? If it doesn't, keep looking at it for a while. Weird, no? The top looks lighter than the bottom. But get this... It's not! When I was making this in photoshop I kept thinking that I was using the gradient tool by accident, but no, I used the eyedropper tool to check the color of the top and bottom part of the sections and it's exactly the same. Want proof? Right click and click "save target as" on the picture, save it and open it with XP's image viewer. Zoom in to any of the sections (like alot, so that you can't see the bottom part where the other section starts anymore) and you'll see that it's one solid color. Zoom back out and the illusion will be revealed to you. Illusion 2: This one is weird too Ok, back to the 3rd part of the triangle. Look at the bottom of it, right above the line where it seperates into the 4rth part. Stare at it for a good 20-30 seconds. Now this has to be a solid stare, no moving at all or even focusing your eyes. After 20 or so seconds you will see that the 2 top parts above the 3rd part will all fade to the same color as the 3rd part. You can do this with all the parts of the triangle if you stare at the border lines, different places will make different results, for example if you stare at the top of the 3rd part, you will see that the 4rth part will fade to the same color as the 3rd. Try this out at different edges of the 4 different parts and observe the weirdness. Neat illusion, no? The reason why the first illusion happens (the one with the gradientness) is because of the different contrast levels your eyes percieve. For example if you look at something that is next to a light surface, it'll apear dark, if you look at something near a dark surface, it'll apear light, and yet as shown in the picture, it was one solid color. The reason why the 2nd illusion happens is...well I don't actually know But probably the color focusing of your eyes after you look at something for a while.
  12. I almost died 3 times Drowning, Electric shock, and being flung off a bike at 30MPH
  13. Yes, I know When I got the card I knew nothing about computer hardware or graphics cards. Well really, theres only about a 5-10% difference in performance between Nvidia and it's Radeon Counterparts. The terrible Half Life 2 DX9 performance seems to have buzzed everyone into thinking Nvidia sucks all of a sudden, I think that it's not possible for a FX 5900 to get 10FPS on HL2 while a Radeon 9600 Pro gets 60 without some sort of tampering or optimizations going on at Valve's side, because an FX5900 does just as well as a 9600 Pro if not better at other games. But overall, yeah Radeon gives better value, so thats what I'll be getting, a 9700 Pro hopefully, since it's cheaper by about $100-200 from a 9800 Pro, yet it's only 5% slower in performance. Anyway look at this: http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/200312...1229/index.html It'll answer any questions you have on graphics cards performance comparisons.
  14. How exact do you want them? Hehe, they were pretty exact in my post up top Athlon XP3200+ (2205Mhz), 512MB Infineon Dual Channel DDR ram, 120GB Western Digital harddrive, Geforce 4 MX 440 (64MB DDR) graphics card, Sound Blaster Live sound card, A7N8X Deluxe motherboard (6 USB ports, 2 firewire, 2 LAN ports, audio and DVI input, and integrated Nforce Audio - which I disabled for my Sound Blaster Live) running on Windows XP Proffesional, and then I kept my monitor, speakers, keyboard, and mouse from the old PC since they were very good and I didn't need new ones.
  15. Lol desmond, you're not being very generous to the "busy" people I have 62 people on my list, and that's a small number compared to what I do. I know people (*ahem* Kumar *ahem) who have maxxed out their list with 150 contacts, some people even make multiple accounts to manage all their contacts.
  16. Yes that's good, I'm kinda late in building mine AMD is making their next break right now with the 64bit processors, the Athlon64 and Athlon FX processors are about 10-20% faster than anything Intel is trying to dish out. Give it a year or two and that should be the perfect time to buy - right in the middle of the next generation of processors. You shouldn't get the earliest or the latest version of a chip (unless you're like me and can find a good deal) because the performance facter won't outweigh the cost, basically, you pay more money for less value. Just try to soak up as much info as you can on www.tomshardware.com and you'll be fine.
  17. No one knows I'm 15 unless I tell them Anyway People usually don't go under the number 20 when trying to guess my age (in the online world), so the pic works well with that. And yes, I kind of have an aura of being older than someone, you can put me next to someone who's 16 or 17 and I'll look older. That's the case usually. Oh by the way, if I wear glasses (they actually make me look better, not worse) You'll think I'm married and have a family Unfortunatly, I don't need glasses...yet. By the time I'm 18 I'll probably be wearing them.
  18. Stock speeds It can go up to 200 x 17 (3.4 ghz) (that's the max the motherboard allows) which would be something like an XP 5000 , but I wouldn't take it any higher than XP3600 speeds (200x13...2.6Ghz) Right now it's a modest 2.205 ghz, stock speed. I don't plan on overclocking this machine unless maybe I get mad at AMD or Intel or someone for making a new chip that's outrageously faster than mine. But that won't happen for another 2 years.
  19. NewEgg and the wonderful Ebay By the way, the case was only $40 (+15 shipping) at newegg http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc........epa=0
  20. K here we go After a month of buying parts and waiting for them to arrive in the mail, I've finally setup my new computer, with the lovely assistance of Brian, what a darling. Alright so saturday we spent 8 hours assembling the PC. It really only took 5 hours of building and then 1 hour of waiting for Windows to install. But then tragedy struck. As soon as I connected my machine to the world wide intarweb I got the RCP worm thing, and like 5 other viruses. We combated the viruses for about 2 hours and all was well, we didn't even have to reformat my harddrive like brian kept insisting. Victory was had The PC rocks Xp 3200+ processor (400fsb) on an Asus A7N8X Deluxe motherboard, 512MB Dual Channel DDR Ram and a 120 GB hardrive. Then I also put in my old sound card (Sound Blaster Live) and graphic card (Geforce 4 MX 440 yuck) but that's alright, because the graphics card is already performing 3x better since it's not limited to a 600Mhz 2x AGP environment. I'll be getting a new graphic card (probably Radeon 9700 Pro) later on, maybe for my birthday. Oh yeah, and I built this entire machine for under $500. It roxx Oh and heres brian pretending to do something and what looks like me humping my PC, even though I'm not one word wwwwwooooooooooooooooooooot!
  21. Well, we're still deciding on those details and we're still working on how everything will stack up, so I can't give you those details right now since they'll probably change in the future
  22. Yeah, new PC rocks, I'll have pics and maybe some benchmarks later. By the way, my CPU temperature is usually at arround 40-45 C - which rocks, the 2 side fans and kick @#$% heatsink really work. Most stock computers are at the 55-65 C range. I'll have pics later tonight so I can show you the awesome LEDs on it (theres 6 total)
  23. As stated in the FAQ we're going to release and include alot of our own developer tools (and even have some built into the editor) for people to make their own mods. In addition we will also support modding, as in you can create your own custom units and include them with your scenario (within the .scn itself, thus you can distribute just the scenario and no need to go through the whole installing procedure)
  24. I too saw it at DGDN a few days late, but I didn't want this forum to turn into the "Happy Birthday Central" that is DGDN's general chat forum, so I didn't post But deep down inside, Wijit knows we all wish/wished him a very happy birthday
  25. ooo that's a bad one, is that the one that puts another toolbar in Internet Explorer? I think it is. If adware can't delete it, try spybot http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10194058...tml?tag=lst-0-1 In some cases it might be better, although adware is the best as long as you keep updating the reference files. So try using both programs again. If they don't work go to program files and look for a Mywebsearch folder and delete it. If it's in use, go to start -> run -> and type in "msconfig" and go to startup and make sure Mywebsearch or anything comming from the mywebsearch folder isn't running apon startup. If nothing is there and you still can't delete it - start the computer in safe mode and then do a scan with adware/spybot and see if it can delete it, if not (it should be able to) then manually delete the folder from program files. By the way, Welcome to WFG and you're Brother's secret lair Dannerich
