  8. Hehe, in about 6 months to a year you should be able to match our skill, or atleast be at a similar level. 6 months ago if I had tried to join as a modeller I probably would be rejected too, infact I got in as a scenario designer with an intent at doing art for the game. Though I'm not as good as Wijit I've gotten alot better with my 3d Skills, but my prime is textures, and those are really important. If you don't have good texture skills then your 3d artwork will seriously be hindered Texture skills is a must for 3d artists. The way to improve your texture skills is to just do it as with anything the only way to learn it is to do it and build experiance. That's how I learned, though it's taken 3 years to get to where I am now. The best part though is that things never stop getting better, you will always learn more and more the more you use a program, even if you are already a pro at it.
  9. I agree But then again, all that GC's can be are either spam, or rambling, or both. I don't mean that in a bad way, our GC is exactly what a GC should be, the only changes that're going to happen is the expansion of the community followed by more threads showing up - and thats when we're going to have to start controlling spam. For now, it's alright though, we're a fairly small community and we all know eachother well.
  10. Nice work, I like the details on the horses If you're going to be modding for 0AD then I think you definatly could put up some skill.
  11. Welcome Quite alot of us seem to invite our friends here and I don't mean that in a bad way.
  12. But then, Cinematics could also work as guides Infact I think we're going to have a few introductory cinematics that explain the game as part of the Learn to Play thing in 0AD.
  13. No, that's a concept from AoM, like he said I think It's a good start - is that for a game or something? If it is, it's pretty high in polygons, you might want to consider making the pilars less round and making the stairs into a flat surface which you can then put a "stairs" texture on.
  14. Not really, other engines have sold for alot more. Considering SWGB has sold close to a million copies at $40 or so average, they've made 40 million dollars. Games make alot of money and so their engines sell for alot.
  15. Yeah if I studied more and cared more about schoolwork in general I could easily have straight A's, but nah, it goes against my character.
  16. T-Wolves, hell yeah. I'm tired of the Lakers so they better win.
  17. Considering I'm from Europe, I know how big soccer is It's a nice sport, Americans know nothing about it and have never experianced the excitement from the World Cup or any of that. And yes you're right, soccer is the underdog sport here, it's played but not taken seriously. America's sport has always been [american] football, it too is a good sport and alot of Europeans don't give it much justice, just like with Americans and soccer), It's a very strategic sport, infact it has more strategy in it than Soccer, yet to most europeans it just looks like a bunch of people with shoulder pads and helmets knocking into eachother until they all fall down The problem with Soccer in America is #1 Lack of enthusiasm, and #2, it's a girls sport Well, atleast here it is. It started when alot of people would send their girls to play soccer when they're little, well that eventually grew into women taking soccer seriously as their sport. So those're the main reasons really, there are many more small ones. By the way, most Americans hate baseball now, it's a borring sport . Basketball isn't viewed as a "national sport" either, the reason it's popular is because it's easy and fun to play in the streets and is also a fun sport to watch.
  18. Science Shmience I've yet to take my finals, but either way I'm not a straight A student. That's right everyone, CheeZy is a dumb head
  19. Rated R in the states, meaning you can't see it without an adult with you We don't exactly have age limmits. There wasn't any nudity (well, nakedness, but not nudity if you know what I mean) and it wasn't one of the most violent movies... If people wore clothes a little more the movie would probably have been PG-13, meaning it's for age 13 and above
  20. If some people offered us alota money for our engine, then we'd sell them a license to use it However it won't be put up for free for anyone to use.
  21. It's #2 on my list of "worst movie endings" with the Matrix Revolutions as #1
  22. The best is when they don't build the trojan horse, it just apears the next day I love consistency errors in movies, they make dramas that much funnier to me.
  23. Welllll.... It wasn't as great or as epic as it's hyped up to be. I saw it about an hour ago. Sure there was action and some massive battles but that was it. It was almost as near an FX fest as The Matrix Revolutions, and the ending sucked almost as much (Achilles dies and then the screen fades to credits 30 seconds later) It was average, mediocre or so. The span of the movie wasn't great either, it makes the whole thing seem like it took 3 days to take over troy (or 13 if you follow the movie's timeline) while it actually was supposed to take 10 years accourding to the legend. Also there was lots of sex No nudity though, just that Achilles got to sex up atleast 4 girls.
  24. You know... a whole lot of websites went down in the wake of Wizhost dieing
