  1. Do we like this? On first look it sounds terrible for me personally, but it's maybe better for "casual" players, for people who want to play easier games. Me personally would like to see more smaller fights during game, resource raids, etc. Mentioned idea about limiting resources on initial CC sounds interesting towards above goal. But we should be careful - not all players want aggressive game. We don't want to make game uncomfortable for beginners / intermediate players.
  2. @LetswaveaBook heheh I am just watching your game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FuI_J00ZY4 . There was loooong time of chilling. Then you both got so many units so that game started to lag. x) Also when I watch first engagement around fortress - there is no chance I can't see how big armies are. I have no idea who has more to fight. I guess microing units is impossible in such a big blob as well. Idk if people like that...
  3. And when and how you do fights? Make big blob with siege units and just rush thru middle?
  4. This is good point. I guess it's not enough just to slow down production, it might require buffing units. And I guess resource collecting and cost of units are factors that needs to be considered as well.
  5. It means that people like big blobs?
  6. P.S. Instead of maxpop. I guess better solution would be to make unit production slower, but make them build structures faster. Not sure tho, just thinking loud.
  7. Better in term of slower production/less units per time? I didn't try but not sure less that 100 pop is playable. Or is it? But regardless I saw most of players play on 250-300 limit so if I configure 100 nobody will join my lobby. I am wondering on global level if people agree with me that it would be better to have less units?
  8. Hey. I watched some RTS games on Youtube like AOE 2 and 3, WC 2, SC 2... In none of them you can produce 100+ units in 10 minutes, it's rather 3-4x less. I am wondering why 0AD is made like that? I play on 15" lap top screen and yesterday during 1v1 game I had clash with part of opponent's army. It was very hard for me to estimate how much he actually has. And I general that big blobs is not looking nice. What you guys think - would it be better to have less units? Was there discussions about this before? Would it make sense to think about making less crowd in game? Is that complex to make?
  9. My PC is HP 620 lap, dual core 2.3Ghz, Ubuntu 18. Not sure about graphics card, it's default. I just spectated a game, and for me and other spectators it started to lag during engagement. Idk, maybe lag is more common then you think. Yeah, not sure if pop limit 100 - 150 would help... I know it's hard to optimize without enough developers. I just tried to give some ideas...
  10. Yes, single player. I turned off all possible effects in game settings and followed tutorial on above page. I have slow PC/lap-top indeed, but I guess to get more players it should work on most possible PCs. Also maybe there are maybe too many units. In AOE2 people make much less than 100pop in 10 mins... Less units would speed up things?
  11. I was just thinking that AOE version 2 has less graphics, animations, etc. Not sure how much impact that would have tho.
  12. Hi guys. I am quite new in the community and I like the game so far. However, after building many units it starts to lag a bit. So I am wondering if there are discussions to make this game more similar to AOE 2 which I hope would make it less resource heavy. Or is there plan to speed it up? It's very boring in mid/late game when it starts to happen but I like game in general...
