  1. Yeah I forgot either to mention that my DSL is German T-DSL (728/128 kilo bits/second).
  2. Well, I like the idea, but I fear this would make the whole thing a bit complex. I think simplicity rules, also when it comes down to RTS games. My 2 bits.
  3. Exactly akya, that is the whole goal of the things - make people think more before they post and have some sort of competition where everybody can win something. Well, Admins would be excluded of course, I am not too sure yet about Moddies, as we (Klaas and I) want to provide the Moddies with some glory as well. Maybe we want to add "Guardian of the Month". Well, funniest member and funniest thread...there can be worlds between them. Funniest member would be the guy/gal who constantly enriches the Community Forums with his/her humour. How would the elections work ? Well, for each category the guardians put together a list of people that are considered. Then all forum members can vote (one vote for each category) and the voting decides. Maybe we want to adjust the Member of the Year thing to be Member of the Half-year.. What do you think ?
  4. Well, I am one Admin, it's my job to get us guys going.
  5. He could have made a search. Anyway, as our community grows threads may repeat, as there are more people who will participate.
  6. Well, I chose RTS, though I also spend some playing FPS' and Sports Games.
  7. 1.) *ships Hero cookie* 2.) Our base of Guardians will grow with the size of our community, so this will not be any problem. 3.) It's there. That's why we have the Community- and Webdev-team. They are supposed to deal with anything related to´the Community. There is the Development Team, though (well, no clear boundaries between the two, because some people wear more than one hat), which is supposed to focus on the Development of the games.
  8. The warnings thingie should be removed now..it's just for Moderators to keep track of how many warnings you have. See point 16 of the Community Guidelines.
  9. Also guys, please have a look at this thread: http://forums.wildfiregames.com/wfg/index....p?showtopic=218
  10. This is in addition to the Wildfire Games Community Guidelines Have a look at some general tips on how to be a good and well-respected forumer here What is General Chat ? People get along better when they know each other well. We get to know each other by discussing hobbies, music tastes, favourite films and pets, stuff like that. It's not appropriate to post topics like this within the Wildfire Games Community Forums, so we have General Chat. It's been likened in the past to the office or game water-cooler where people gather for a break from work or gaming. General Chat is essential to the progression of Gaming as and helps to enhance the overall essence of the community. Guidelines For General Chat Throughout the Community we have a 'respect each other' policy. That applies in this forum too, particularly when a discussion is of a sensitive nature. We feel the need to apply strict guidelines to prevent insults and subsequent flame wars throughout the forums in addition to the Community Guidelines. The nature of General Chat dicatates that additional guidelines are required in order to keep the peace. With immediate effect, the following will apply to the General Chat Forum: 1. Any political or religious threads will be moved to the "Hall of Intellectuals" Forum without warning, as stricter rules concerning the approach of religion and politics exist there. 2. It is easy to get off-topic when chatting generally. However, if we feel something is drastically off-topic a warning to keep the thread clean and on topic will then be posted by a non-participating member of staff. Off-topic is okay, so long as it is not drastically. Please start a new thread if you feel your approach is too Off-topic. 3. If anything is posted after this warning, which refers to the Off-Topic posts in any way, the thread might be closed and an 'official' warning will be handed out to the poster(s) of such 'after-warning-posts'. If you feel the need to draw the immediate attention of a member of staff to a thread, please do not hesitate to use the Report button feature. If anybody wishes to contest the action taken, they may do so by contacting either the staff member who dealt with it or myself (via Private Message). Please send me a private message if you have any questions about that.
  11. Wow, another 1000 posts in just 4 days, making it 4000 in total. Woot !
  12. Swellick meant AOC as the expansion to EE (just letting you know, because he answered 'yep' to a question where one needs to decide between two approaches).
  13. I'd like to see a show where Gordon Freeman, hero of Half-Life, investigates City 17. In fact some show called "Half-Life 2" would be cool !
  14. Have a look at empiresrts.com or empires.heavengames.com I think one really sees that it is based of Empire Earth, whose feal I didn't like either. :wall:
  15. The warnings shouldn't be seen by you, it's just for Moderators to remember how many warnings you have (maximum 3, then temporary ban, also check the Community Guidelines). The warning thing has been removed. Also on the 0ad Forum Index page you see certain Forums at the bottom with arrows next to them. Please have a look at them to know where to post this the next time.
  16. @Zezar: Look at my signature to get to know what currency is.
  17. ESO is the online match-making software for Age of Mythology (like battle.net is for blizzard's games). See also http://eso.com
