Maybe don't cause distracting drama? Lol
My word count, post count, etc, is so low that I don't think you have noticed yet that I abhor drama?
So you are apparently OK with breaking changes crippling modders. But that's not LOL in my book .
Why would you encourage further marketing of the current anti-modder paradigm by focusing on PR instead? What future does that lead 0 A.D. toward?

Regarding your comments directly towards me, I don't understand your comment about my 'anti attitude against lone developers.' I'm not clear precisely what you mean, and apologies if I've misunderstood. I'm certainly not anti or against lone developers and don't think I've ever expressed any such opinion.

what do you mean you have been ignored? so far I see one differential by you and that have been included into the game.
And I respect you @Angen thank you for the data. Yes one diff. Two years ago. And the experience was so bad for me because of the, as @Stan` has stated, elitism.
Please do not ignore like the others. i posted here twice last night. My other post, about the lack of WFG providing a Linux build of A24 for Ubuntu 18.04, is being ignored, for example, in favor of everyone chiming in here.

@wraitii - I totally hear what you're saying. No, I don't believe 0AD with it's limited resources can compete on an even level with a commercial juggernaut that is any iteration of AOE, and for sure, I can see that the dev cycle of A24 was cruel on it's devs. And as I said at the start of this thread, this ain't an A24 bashing.
But 0AD does have a long pedigree, you only have to Google it to see it's not some lone indie dev working on a vanity project
It is not my duty to hold you accountable @mysticjim to your own words but here is a friendly reminder quote.
When you write so many words that you ignore or "dont remember" what you've said.

I have been available to contribute for over a year yet have been generally ignored, discounted, LOL'ed and on top of that in the face of all the breaking changes in a24 specificly shat on by the geoup as a 0AD modder.
Even if I wanted to upgrade 18.04 to A24 (like earlier today) the PPA is still A23.
But somehow this was productive until I showed up.
And @mysticjim with your anti attitude against "lone indie devs" etc on top of a fairly poor job marketing your youtube from a traffic perspective...I am afraid I dont see how you are the solution.

What is holding up the release of the alpha 24 files at the wfg PPA on launch pad?
I just tried to update my 0.23b but there are no new files there!?

The big difference with my mod is the attitude. Enjoy.

Screenshots?
Yes please! I would be much obliged. The scenario map is likely best for that.
This community is so helpful.

I am pleased to announce version 0.95 of Aye Pirates is released.
Download 0.95 here from ayepirates.com
The mod is still for Alpha version 23b
It has not yet been tested with the Alpha 24 version of 0 A.D.

Wow I like your thinking on this. Less micro to gather too.
What is EA a new mod?
-
When I think about this then I worry that one would need a server to play single player?
-
V 0.92 of Aye Pirates has a large changelog and some known bugs but I am mostly happy with it.
capture the relic for 10 minutes on the large map is fun i think.

I just patched Aye Pirates (version 0.92) and it works fine on my ryzen.
If anyone has a problem playing AP on mac or BSD please let me know? My mod is only for alpha version 23 (the one from 2018) so maybe it'll still work for some of you.

Oh cool thank you

I would very much like to see custom names it's a great idea

Can I ask if you are using a random generator or else is the terrain handmade?
I think my aye pirates mod needs a skirmish map but I would be making my first one...unless you might be interested to make one

Too many words. Let me try to balance it out with just a few:
Games are balanced.
Art projects and history are not.
A historical art project game is ... 0 A.D A23
Dilemma. Indeed.

@LordGood made the muskets. And thank you for the feedback!
I like the cannon sounds too but it might be too much low end over speakers.

Update:
- Corrected a cross-compartment bug in CGame::ReallyStartGame, line 329. Does this affect the current 0ad version too??
Is there a cross-compartment bug in CGame::ReallyStartGame, line 329 affecting A23?
-
Are you wanting to play on a really large map ... or is it more bout making the map 2D with a top down perspective?
-
Thank you for the notification @Freagarach
can you say the impact on garrisoned ships?
I dont know if a ship by design is more like a turret or a building!
