How? Screenshot?
Did you build houses?
Guide to pop-growth: gather food (Fields? Techs?), gather wood (Dropsites? Techs?), build houses.

@stanislas69I was just typing a reply, but your last link clarified that we should use AE; so I guess that settles it, although I think our meaning is closer to the British.
SpoilerShouldn't we switch to Englisc/Old English?

There was a debate about that, both had pros and cons
So I was wrong once again? ^^
At least I think placing docks is better visible and controllable than for example some out-of-bounds trees where you waste your workers' time...

For some reason it worked this time. I shifted the site back a couple of mm and it all came together for me
I believe docks shouldn't be place-able where workers can't reach'em, but that might not always work perfectly...
Anyway, glad it worked for you.

Maybe I need to do some thing to secure a small piece of territory where I can build the dock or find an interim storage facility so that work can continue...
No. Neither can you secure a bit of territory nor do you need it for a dock; and the only kind of 'interim storage facility' would be a dock...
1 hour ago, jaytee said:I arrive by ship then disembark the workers place a dock site in the only position available (on the waterfront) work commences
Sounds like it should work. If you attached a replay or at least a screenshot showing the dock, ppl here would probably able to better help you.

@sarcomaTrue, but that wasn't the question.
@sentadoI haven't played with Ashoka for a while, so I don't know. Maybe @stanislas69would know (who to ask)?

Maybe that could be the answer?
btw: Why does it say '1post' for @alchemywhen he has two posts in this thread already?

Good to have respectable news sites.

I'm not against floral names per se, but the current version is already named 'Wood'.

If we put it in every release announcement they will!

I believe fauna is supposed to appear in appropriate biomes? Could we maybe have some fresh water fish?
I'm quite certain 'forest tuna' is not historically correct. ;P

Ah, that guy. Yeah, I'm aware that a lot of 'restorations' (in the 19th century) are considered historically incorrect.

@stanislas69I don't know what you mean about the castles, and how that affects the cultural worth. Only thing I found was: " In 1160, the Bishop of Paris, Maurice de Sully, decided to build a new and much larger church. He summarily demolished the Romanesque cathedral and chose to recycle its materials."
-
"Photos show center of Notre Dame cathedral miraculously intact": I read they let the fire burn controlled, logic being what doesn't crash down can't smash things below... Some (foreign) air-head suggested using water bombers; luckily the firefighters knew better.
So, the roof's gone. I don't think there was much actual cultural loss?

I might be a tad late to the party, but I don't get the brick pattern on the tower, specifically the corners/cornerstones.
This is leather? If I were to craft anything like this, I'd try to make sturdy panels for each side, attaching them to the corner poles of the tower; that would be clear edges, and certainly no leather pieces would go around the corner. A bit more like the first one on the left or the lower one:

Before changing anything, it is important to know what exactly is expected in the summary screen.
I said I expect a description of my society. Any other expectations out there? Shall we make a poll?

Like, totally? But what total do you mean here?

The starting units doesn't count.
So, besides me mixing up several numbers... ^^
I expected a 'description of my society' rather than a description of my training history. I guess that one stat doesn't really matter, but which do you think it should be?
1 hour ago, (-_-) said:3 units who are workers without the worker class.
Yeah. I guess I just should know/understand that?
1 hour ago, (-_-) said:feminization = female citizens / workers * 100 = 44 / 44 * 100 = 100%
One might say that it is not expected.(I for one did not)
Spoiler -
How's the 'feminisation' stat calculated? Does it only take trained working pedestrians into account?
I've got 47 units, 5 of which are my starting males, and 3 male cavs; so I'd expect my feminisation to be around ~83%?

It's all so disgusting.
The Council of Ministers will have a final vote on this on the 15th. Since Italy, Poland, Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Luxembourg already announced that they'll vote 'No', Germany could still prevent it. But of course that's not gonna happen. Instead our great Minister of Justice wants to say 'please use no upload-filters to filter the uploads'...

For this map-aera problem, one could make it so that the map area relates to the passable map area, not the total map aera, but not sure if that makes it really more expected.
Might be worth a try.
38 minutes ago, elexis said:Yes, that was bad. I had already removed 20-30% of the forests and there is still too few space. The map author actually said it's the intention of the map that players have to use docks and chop wood. So I still think there is more deforestation necessary before I play that map.
Yeah, I saw that one spot where I could've 'docked & chopped'; but to aim my whole game play to that, only to be able to build a full set of my civ's buildings? 'Luckily' that was one of the games that crashed, so I didn't have to go through with it...
42 minutes ago, elexis said:They aren't fake. I guess you're asking for tooltip that tells you that you need a merchant to pick it up.
So, that's what's up. Good to know!
44 minutes ago, elexis said:That's the case on about every map that comes with a small river or passages. Might be fixed by making docks not placeable in places where there is only space for a ship. But then players report that as a bug that they can't build a dock there. So eh, not sure what we're supposed to do. Players at least can expect from the size of the ship and the dock that this will be blocking in some areas. For this specific maps the thames can become larger.
As a first step the ridiculous size of the ships could be decreased. And maybe I'm just a bit daft, but 'expecting' anything in this regard is always guesswork for me. I wish it would be easier to tell what waters are 'ornamental', and which are navigable; or in this case with the Thames, to what degree they are navigable.
58 minutes ago, elexis said:which I suspect is part of the reason why the "Land" filter is the "Default" one. But all of this feedback is feedback for ship and map development, not for the gamesetup filtering, no?
If we are talking about picking maps from the material we've got, it's both?
