  1. In class I just jot down sentences the teacher says and seem important to me. Of course, I normally copy whatever s/he writes on the board, since they are often the highlights of the topic at hand. I try to write with as many logical connectors as possible: cause/effect, comparison etc.
  2. I was very upset to hear about this development. I doubt I will be able to sleep at night until this threat is dealt with.
  3. I voted for the Hanging Gardens. Gardens and parks are very important to have in urban planning - I'm sure it would have been gorgeous on the banks of the Euphrates.
  4. Parking, menu-prices-special offers, accessibility, special events (if any artists perform there).
  5. Hasbro is a large multi-million $$$ corporation, which sells many different products (including toys, board games and computer games). Most importantly, they have enough money for a legal battle over Insurrection, we don't. That's the unfortunate end of that.
  6. The various English accents of English always requires a little extra effort to understand on my behalf, especially when spoken quickly. With the right upper-class accent, it can also come off very stuck-up and snotty. (Scottish accents are much less prone to this, in my mind.) By comparison, American English (save the Southern accent) has always sounded much more natural to my ears.
  7. Looks like my kind of house. (It's kind of poetic, how today's rich and famous have villas not unlike this one outside LA.)
  8. Bowmen are oh so nice. The can cause so much damage, so far away from the battlefield. They're like an insurance policy really.
  9. An excellent question in itself, if I may say so myself, ZeZar, and something worth thinking about. Jason being the head of the team and a devout Christian himself, he should obviously be the authority on this issue. With any luck, my campaign will be created and ship with the game, design scheduled to start no earlier than alpha time. It would be about Romans versus a rebellion in Judea, involving a lot of crucifixions, so we'd have to model a crucified person to be historically accurate. Most people would immediately identify these models with Jesus, but it's nevertheless important to remember: Jesus was the most renowned person ever to be crucified, but hardly the only one.
  10. 9 - Best, with room for improvement. (I'm like one of those nasty teachers who can never bear to give a perfect grade to a student)
  11. There is no "best programming language". Each was designed for specific purposes, and tends to do these best. Between C++ and Cobol, I would definitely choose C++, but it would be extremely helpful if you had some background in a non-OOP language, like Pascal (the first language I learnt) or C proper.
  12. But WFG already has many sexually attractive members of its team...!
  13. One wonders what the practical difference between the Reputation and Currency systems is, what the distinction between the respective rationales of the Reputation and Currency systems is, and what warrants having both systems operating simultaneously.
  14. Acumen answered your questions effectively and courteously, as always, but I would like to emphasize a point regarding your comments on the AoM GUI: As one of the 0 A.D GUI developers, I can assure you that we clearly do not plan to "reinvent the wheel" concerning the GUI. As our target market includes veteran players of other RTS games along with newcomers to RTS gaming, there will be no overcomplications or alien concepts in the GUI, (especially if you've ever played one of the Age series games or an equivalent). Even if we do invent or add something minor, (and at the moment I can't think of anything we have), we intend to explain and demonstrate it so clearly your grandparents will be able to adjust to the change.
  15. You'd have to talk that over with The Chief (Wijit). It sounds like a good idea to me, at least for a nice post-release "goodies module" or something.
  16. !!!! I'm impressed. Thank you for the kind and speedy work!
  17. If anyone could allow the tag
  18. Studying for the written test, which I will take in January.
  19. Depending on traffic, it usually takes about 20 minutes to get from my house to school, or vice versa. On late afternoons, when traffic is light, it can take 10 minutes, and on Friday afternoons it took me 50 minutes once.
  20. I read the minutes & the transcript but didn't understand too much. I need a clarification of the question before I can answer. (Oh and Hebrew is written top right to bottom left ) I'd rather have discussion this over the forums or e-mail; I can't promise to be online for extended periods this week.
