  1. You can have both but do not expect completely separate apps they will have their config and cache files in the same place overwriting each other creating a real mess in real life if you want that setting up a virtual machine would be more productive.

Technically very hard to do as each players copy of the game computes independently the game state and most of those calculations use C++ not JavaScript which is browser friendly then there are differences of each browser's JavaScript engine.A further complication is each players game state must be the same otherwise we get synchronisation errors.

  3. You need to specify the revision number completely then it is possible to pull that version from the svn repo so settle on the revision number in advance remember that it will be a moving target and people playing need to be all on the same revision to prevent OOS errors.
