  1. I personally like your original division. It only seems fair since the owner of the trader made the initial investment and is responsible for keeping it alive.
  2. Any news on this? Perhaps the staff topic could be moved into the open forum, so as to enable other folks to help out with any tasks that need to be done?

  4. What makes you think it is forgotten? People may just be busy with other things.
  5. What purpose does it serve to state the obvious? If you want more programmers working on gameplay, why not read up on some programming tutorials and work on it yourself? It's bound to be a lot more effective than wasting your energy on complaining about others not doing it.

  12. The .exe is pre-built. If there is only a .exe, you haven't compiled the Unix binary yet.
  13. There's already mineable temple ruins in the game, if I am not mistaken. Regarding rubble, it might be nice if decals faded slowly instead of suddenly vanishing?
  14. It's a bit strange that this issue keeps coming up. As mentioned in the "known issues" thread (and by k766 above), the reasons for the poor performance are well-understood. There are profiling features built into the engine that allow developers to measure exactly how much processor time is spent in each component of the game. In other words: do not blame your CPU Don't blame your GPU either as the slowness is not a hardware issue at all. Rather, it is an artifact of using alpha quality software not intended for general consumption.

  16. Would people be more receptive to moving to Git if there were an autoupdater in place? Given that updating binaries is the main obstacle to that? We can probably make a 'development channel' for autobuilt binaries and then a separate channel for actual releases.

  22. Lions already do attack player units. I also suggested that if a unit attacks a child elephant, nearby adult elephants should retaliate to simulate herd behavior. But it was not well-received
  23. I am pretty sure the AI and RMS stuff was split into different APIs because it was deemed to be the best design - not because it was too hard to combine them into a "one API to rule them all" sort of thing. I would be interested to see any evidence to the contrary, though.
  24. (Perhaps the last few posts should be migrated to a separate topic?) I'm actually curious why triggers are considered a 'major' addition insofar that a trigger is just "something that calls something else on some condition". At first blush, that seems pretty straightforward compared to some other recent additions, like click-drag walls and the new sound manager. So what is the catch?
