  1. Well, he presumes that I would have no counter plans and would not offer temptation to fight on a battlefield of my choosing instead of his. I don't think any commander ever WANTS to fight on a battlefield of his enemy's choosing.
  2. Allowing your plans to fall into enemy hands.
  3. Hmm, no. The Alamo defenders were outnumbered 1:30. Fortunately for the defenders they had a stone chapel and rather large fortified church compound as cover. Unfortunately for them the perimeter was so large they would have needed at least a thousand men or more to defend her. If Sam Houston and James Fanin had aided the defenders as was beseeched they all would have died there.
  4. Whatever you do, never get into a land war in Asia. And never go up against a Sicilian when death is on the line.
  5. LOL about the Alamo. The 1200 figure most likely includes KIA, WIA, Missing, and those that died after the battle due to poor medicine and nutrition. It is likely that a few hundred at most died in the actual final assault. I used to be a huge Alamo buff as a kid. Anywho... I think I'd take the 1000 finest soldiers, and not with any kind of fantasy notion about the 300 or the Alamo or Rourke's Drift or some kind of scenario like that. I choose the 1000 because of the innumerable amount of times that a much smaller, but determined and highly skilled force defeated a much larger, but poorly trained force. A couple of instances were the Battle of Gaugamela and the battle in the middle ages where the Franks fended off a gigantic Muslim army in the south of France.
  6. You may donate to my computer repair fund via PAYPAL: michaeldhafer@gmail.com I am currently on my gf's computer.
  7. Yeah, there would be a lot more revisions, if it weren't for my computer refusing to boot. PS: Also, not all revisions are logged in the public logger, so there has most likely been more revisions than the public logger indicates.
  8. 0 A.D. will eventually be Open Source. Soon actually. What I mean by soon is on the order of months, not years.
  9. We implemented a feature on the 0 A.D. main page called the "Revision Log." It is an old feature we had running on the site a few years ago. It got broken when we switched servers, but we decided to put it back onto the site this weekend to show our fans what kind of daily progress we are making on the game. Do you guys think it's cool???
  10. Gold. But anyway, that's what I would like. I am just cautioning you that's just an estimate I would like to see fulfilled.
  11. 1. This is always in flux. To be honest all we can offer you are certain benchmarks that you can follow to help you gauge how close we are to completion or "Gold." The progression will go like this: - Open Source Release - Internal Alpha Test - Limited Public Beta - Perhaps a wider Public Beta - Gold We are approaching an Open Source release at this time. 2. This is always in flux as well. If I was to estimate right now, I'd say a 2.0GHz processor, Geforce 6+ grafx card (or equivalent), and 1GB or more of RAM would be recommended. This should not be a problem for most players, because I estimate at least 2-3 years of further development. Prices for Grafx cards, processors, and especially RAM are falling almost exponentially and it should be very easy to meet our game's recommended specs. 3. I think the "look" of the game is irrelevant as far as distribution goes. If you are talking about how we are going to distribute the game, we will most likely use many many mirror sites, like downloads.com and sites like that. We also will make use of peer-to-peer applications. We will encourage our fans to "pirate" our game as much as possible Share share share.
  12. $1.86 now. I have no illusions - these prices will not stay long. Maybe a few more weeks.
  13. USD $1.89 now here in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I suspect it won't stay this low forever. Either way we seriously need to invest in alternative energy sources, irrespective of the fluctuating prices of petrol.
  14. I believe the forum is on Greenwich (Grenitch? hehe) Mean Time.
  15. Our 1 November 2008 screenshot is a great shot of how our "Tropic" Biome is progressing. You'll seeing wonderful white beaches, jungle terrains, and cliffs, as well as oceanic coral textures and even some whales! Click the above preview image to see the screenshot in its 1600x1200 glory! If you are new to our community, then join our Discussion Forums where the discussion is always lively and friendly! Also, check out the new article by Showgun, titled, "The Foundation of the Kushan Empire 126 BC-AD 100"! And as always we have our Showcase Gallery, where you can learn a little more about various aspects of 0 A.D. and how they will all fit together into a coherent and enjoyable gameplay experience.
  16. November screenshot coming tomorrow? I havent had any problems getting onto the site.
  17. Yes. It is possible to play a 1v1 multiplayer match, gather finite resources, capture territories, and fight, etc. at this point in development.
  18. Probably not until you get married. True story.
  19. Do you need me to add an "n" to "Price" for ya? Oh, and welcome. Check out the Applications forum if you want to apply to join the team.
  20. Your mods can be any style and era of time. Modding will be easy to learn XML scripting. Textures are in standard DDS format and models and animations will be in standard Collada format.
