  1. Ehhhh, there are ways to add Total War features to RTS games of this type, but 0 A.D. won't implement them.
  2. Those are great Genava55. Great first post! Have any more nice images?
  3. Yeah, I know. But I dont have a video recorder and editing software, and I don't really have the inclination to learn to do it. I'd rather work on the game.
  4. Female Citizens are a cheap gatherer, with bonuses in food gathering. They can also help build civilian buildings and boost the gathering rates of nearby citizen-soldiers.
  5. I'm one of those crazies that gives gifts to OTHERS for HIS birthday. http://www.wildfiregames.com/0ad/album_page.php?pic_id=12162
  6. Good thinking man. Nearly forgot about that site.
  7. People who take the time to find me on MSN tend to see things earlier.
  8. Welcome, Xen. Tell us a bit about yourself.
  9. They obviously do have something in common: celtiberians were a mixture of Iberian and Celtic peoples and culture. How can you say they have nothing in common? Secondly, they banded together many times in order to fight and resist Carthage and then Rome. Perhaps in a later version of the game we can give the Iberians branching sub-factions (Iberi, Celtiberi, and Lusitani).
  10. Very true. A lot of things that are "done" I want to redo before we go Gold (like animations and some buildings and texture). Plus there are all the eye candy things we want to do (and the community expects).
  11. A "Beta" in 2009 is possible. The game is playable on a fundamental level at this point, but we'd be loath to release a beta in its current state, when so many features are incomplete.
  12. Haha, yeah, I did that last night. Moved the settlements around and watched the territories move around like bubbles.
  13. Territories can be any size, actually. Just depends upon how many settlements there are on the map (territories are created automatically once more than one settlement is place). About the mapshots, that's up to Philip (aka Ykkrosh), our Atlas programmer. I assume though we'd want a variety of screenshot options.
  14. There is no limit at the moment. Maps will be plenty big enough however. Approximately 3 additional territories per player (plus their starting province of course).
  15. I have only one real-world map planned for Part 1 release. All the other stuff will have to be created by the community.
  16. 2) The campaigns will be historically based, with some maps looking like areas of the world I would assume. Story and gameplay first though. 3) No. In Part 1 I believe we want to only do 2 campaigns. 4) Walls will work like walls in AOM, where the walls follow the contours of the terrain (within limits - they won't climb up cliffs, for instance).
  17. I think any recorded game function should also allow the player to see from his enemy's POV. Viewing the chat is a whole 'nother story though.
  18. http://whyquit.com/whyquit/BryanLeeCurtis.html Don't start smoking. Just Don't Do it.
  19. Purple People Eater and I run our ModDB profile (well, he runs it and I contribute) and we've been tracking our progress. We're doing pretty good (not great), so any friends you can get to sign up to ModDB and vote would be great.
  20. That is the plan. I had thought we'd be able to get something out last year. My mistake.
