  1. The Migdol Stronghold trains Chariots, Camelry, and War Elephants. It also fires arrows at enemy units, and can be used to garrison units Migdol, or migdal, is a Hebrew word (מגדּלה מגדּל, מגדּל מגדּול) which means either a tower (from its size or height), an elevated stage (a rostrum or pulpit), or a raised bed (within a river). Physically, it can mean fortified land, i.e. a walled city or castle; or elevated land, as in a raised bed, like a platform, possibly a lookout. The term for a border fort is similar, mekter, in Egyptian. Figuratively, "tower" has connotations of proud authority. Joshua referred to Migdal-Gad, tower of Gad, one of the fortified cities of Judah, and also to Migdal-El, tower of God, one of the fortified towns of Naphtali (Joshua 19.38); and the city of origin of Mary Magdelene [Magdala] (Matthew 27:56; Mark 16:9; Luke 8:2; John 20:18). Jeremiah referred to a "Migdol" in Egypt, (Jeremiah 44:1) an island in the Nile, and Ezekiel referred to the Migdol of Syene, in Upper Egypt, in the context of the seat of government. The letters of uta refer to a "Magdalu in Egypt" which Albright identified with Jeremiah's Migdol.[1] The Book of Exodus records that the children of Israel encamped at Pi-hahiroth between Migdol and the Red Sea, before their historic crossing. Migdal Ha'emek is a large hill surrounded by the Kishon river, west of Nazareth.

  2. The Ephebic Oath was an oath sworn by young men of Classical Athens, typically eighteen year-old sons of Athenian citizens, upon induction into the military academy, the Ephebic College, graduation from which was required to attain status as citizens. The applicant would have been dressed in full armour, shield and spear in his left hand, his right hand raised and touching the right hand of the moderator. The oath was quoted by the Attic orator Lycurgus, in his work Against Leocrates (4th century BCE), though it is certainly archaic (5th century BCE).The Ephebate, an organization for training the young men of Athens, chiefly in military matters, had existed since the 5th century but was reorganized by Lycurgus. The oath was taken in the temple of Aglaurus, daughter of Cecrops, probably at the age of eighteen when the youth underwent an examination (Greek: δοκιμασία) and had his name entered on the deme register. He was then an ephebus until the age of twenty. English translationI will not bring dishonour on my sacred arms nor will I abandon my comrade wherever I shall be stationed. I will defend the rights of gods and men and will not leave my country smaller, when I die, but greater and better, so far as I am able by myself and with the help of all. I will respect the rulers of the time duly and the existing ordinances duly and all others which may be established in the future. Furthermore, if anyone seeks to destroy the ordinances I will oppose him so far as I am able by myself and with the help of all. I will honor the cults of my fathers. Witnesses to this shall be the gods Agraulus, Hestia, Enyo, Enyalius, Ares, Athena the Warrior, Zeus, Thallo, Auxo, Hegemone, Heracles, and the boundaries of my native land, wheat, barley, vines, olive-trees, fig-trees... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ephebic_Oath

  3. But I think you should let it to the AI creator to choose the behavior his AI uses, since it might be too much to require every bot to be able to utilize all 4 behaviors.

  4. Some cool information. Could make for an Athenian technology. It sounds oddly "Spartan" of the Athenians to have implemented something like this, especially with the orator being named 'Lycurgos' of all names.

  5. I agree. Historically, that is the main focus of wars between Empires and ancients - territories, and the rare/ valuable resources that those territories contain. Since 0 AD is geared on realism, we should take that into account.

  7. Many users ask for add Han Dynasty from rise of east Mod. But that is the most close to add a new civ. Developers are not interesting add civilizations before the game is done. Is for balancing gameplay reasons and art department needs focus in other details. But the project is open in a year the things can be changes.
