  1. Couldn't a decal be used to blend the grass texture for the hill to the surrounding terrain? Try using some of the game's existing grass/mud/dirt textures and see how it looks. It could use random texture variations. Might need to play with the concept a bit, add paths leading around to the top of the hill, etc. so it looks a bit more interesting. I think the biggest issue will be that it's a grassy hill structure, but units can't walk on it.

  2. Fixed transparency issue. Sorry photoshop users, I couldn't export it with layergroups, don't be afraid of so many layers, just follow previous post instructions. There are a ton of combinations. Let's see what you come up with! Thureos template 128x128 final.psd Thureos template 128x128 GIMP final.zip

  3. Hello, and welcome to the forums. Downloading the source and checking out the AI code is definitely a good start. Please read through: http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GettingStarted , and http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GettingStartedProgrammers for the starting information (if you're just going to focus on the AI, and thus javascript programming, some parts might not be as important as the rest). The #0ad-dev IRC channel on Quakenet is probably the best place for real time discussion (provided someone is online of course, but evening/night European time there's usually at least someone, and plenty of people read the logs/are logged in all time and will respond when they're at their computer), and the Game Development & Technical Discussion forum is a good place for more long-term/deeper discussion. Of particular interest to you is: http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=17144 which deals with the AI development, and more specifically where it's going.

  4. I also agree that's annoying. May-be a solution would be to focus only a fixed fraction of the arrows (maybe 30%) on the chosen target, while the rest of the arrows would still be distributed as it is now.

  5. I think the problematic cases are when drivers have bugs and/or incorrectly implement features. Though cross-checking features would be a good way to eliminate hopeless ancient drivers.

  6. Can we somehow simply check whether the features that 0 A.D. requires are supported or not? New drivers may appear, old drivers my start supporting the features we require, and checking the features instead of the drivers, if possible, sounds like a safer and more flexible approach.

  8. Regarding fixed-function pipeline, we have decided already months ago that it will be dropped in future releases. So all in all, it shouldn't really be a surprise. You can get a cheap modern laptop with just 200$. I don't see any reason to support fixed function pipeline as it is, since it's a relic Look at this from another perspective - should we had incorporated MS-DOS support in 2003, just because some people somewhere still used it? Even though it was a decade-old relic already?

  9. I tried using a wrong password, it says the account is blocked for 14 minutes, and indeed it is on that machine (tried with 2 different browsers), but from a different machine it properly logins (supposedly it checks the client IP). So I see no security DoS here. About that why don't you propose it for mainlining it in the upstream project? I am a bit sceptical about using plugins that, being used by few and not well code reviewed, may introduce themself security problems. It happened already in the past. Sometime they were themself backdoors .

  10. Now here comes the White Horse! This is a first draft. I already have ideas to make it better, especially to give some lower relief to the horse itself, making it look a little sunk into the hill. For now, I am using a basic repeated texture, but when the hill and the horse will be shaped right, I will build a UV skin to give more character to the wonder and improve the transition between grass and white gravel. Critics, comments and Blender advices are much welcome.
