wowgetoffyourcellphone
They're actually 3x more powerful, since they deal out 3x damage and also take 1/3 of the incoming damage (more than their enemies).
andy5995
So... I play-tested this yesterday with a couple of humans and got a little slaughtered. I made some changes since then and released v0.26.1

Norse_Harold
Indeed. I've installed kush-extreme version 0.26.2 via the in-game interface. Thanks for developing this, and thanks to the WFG team for getting it signed. freyyja, TwainRick and I were able to easily beat 5 "Very Hard, Aggressive" vanilla bots that were using the Gauls civ in alpha 26 rc3, so the bots needed an increase in difficulty. A bot with "Hard" difficulty using kush-extreme is much more difficult. I was able to survive, but it took 24 minutes for me to obtain a battering ram. Maybe I'm not exploiting the bot's low intelligence enough by building diversionary structures, because the bot was wiping out most of my army with each attack. This is good, because it increases the skill ceiling of the bots. It kind of reminds me of Jebel Barkal, where the opposition Kushites civ ("Napata") has quite strong units at mid game, depending on difficulty setting. Is that part of the inspiration for the kushites-extreme mod? 1

Is that part of the inspiration for the kushites-extreme mod? No, actually the idea just popped into my head one day ("instead of writing a lot of code to alter the bot's behavior, why not just make one civ OP?") andy5995 Posted Saturday at 05:39 Author Report Share Posted Saturday at 05:39 I added a little more description to the README To use this mod, just select Kushites as the civ, there is no need to change the bot settings. Most of the Kush units will have a higher HP. This mod is primarily when you want to fight a more difficult AI than the default "Very Hard" AI. Another benefit is that you can play a game with fewer units on the map because you can replace two or three AI opponents with one Kushite opponent.

And the Kush Extreme modifier changes the AI to double super strong. Game Summary (Essentials - Emphasizing Difficult Start): Game Type: Random Map, EXTREME Nomad Start Map: Extinct Volcano (Circular) Rising Water: The map will gradually flood Map Size: Tiny Starting Resources: Critically Low (100), cannot build a Town Center, and no way to collect more without it. No Treasures: Treasures are disabled on map Kush Extreme Mod: All Kush units have 3x HP and 3x all forms of resistance, affecting female citizen and military units (except champion infantry). Player Teams: Team 0: Human: (Han - was random) - (Red) - Starts in an extremely precarious situation, cannot gather resources without a town center first. and land will flood Hard AI: Takahatenamun (Kush) - (Orange) Team 1: Hard AI: Shabaka (Kush) - (Yellow) Hard AI: Tantamani (Kush) - (Green) Medium AI: Alara (Kush) - (Light Blue) Medium AI: Pebatjma (Kush) - (Dark Blue) Medium AI: Shebitku (Kush) - (Purple) Medium AI: Qalhata (Kush) - (Dark Purple) All Kush AI players benefit from the Extreme Mod. Key Points: Hopeless Start for Han: The player starts with virtually no options and cannot gather resources. The player cannot build a town center and the game cannot go foward without it. To make matters worse, the entire map will be submerged by rising water. Kush Units are massively buffed: The Kush Extreme mod is a major factor making all Kush units extremely tough and resilient. Team Imbalance: One Human player with a Hard AI against a team of 6 AIs which are all using a buffed civ. Do you understated the crippling impact of the starting conditions? The absolute requirement for a Town Center before any resource gathering can begin makes the start incredibly. The Kush Extreme modifier completely skews game balance, making it vital to understanding the situation. It is very important to highlight this, because the kush team has a huge advantage. Near-impossible start and the huge imbalance created by the Kush Extreme mod, which completely dictates how this game will be played.
