ffm2
6 hours ago, RangerK said: What do you guys think? Seems sensible. I don't have too much time now and won't have so soon. But I had a idea of using the game setup chat to share results. This way one can get faster to a bigger data base. During the transmission one would spam the chat window one time with a big wall of text. So there may be some guard rails necessary against abuse, but then again any user can spam the chat. So as I imagine it the broadcast would look something like this: ffm: [LoacalRatings V0.28] Sharing my game results for team games: Date Time (UTC+0) | Winnerteam | Loserteam 26.09.2026 20:00 | ffm(maur), a(iber), b(gaul), c(gaul) | d(gaul), e(gaul), f(gaul), g(gaul) This data could then be separately saved and in doubt deleted if you believe someone gave false data or someone had weird settings. Just as a sketch. A downside could be that users snitch on other users how often they play, I don't know if that makes some uncomfortable. This data is already shared via the replays but to a smaller extend. I guess best would be not to share your gamer nick with your boss. Edit: Actually this way whole replays could be transmitted. Don't know if one should. Maybe a new mod, share replays would be better. Host a game in the lobby for that purpose in the lobby, let some join that you want to share with and synchronize your data bases. Stan`
Is that something worth adding to replay pallas ?
ffm2
A direct way down and up to replay pallas would be the best in long term. Up: In bulk and with some save rails (e.g. no games under 4 min., no special setups for test with unlimited resources). Down: In bulk, also with conditions (of players where I lack replays). The current zip way over the web interface is limited AFAIK in the number of games and the user would select these games by hand currently. What I described here was more peer to peer and easier to mod. A "share replays mod" could look like this: In the lobby one could have a new button "share replays" next to the others (host game, join game). Instead of the normal game setup one would have the normal setup chat, no game/map setup, but conditions of the games one would like to share. E.g. 4vs4, 3vs3, over 4 minutes etc.. With mod setting "incompatible" and only buddys able to join. That way RangerK and I could sync our data bases without wfg beeing involved (except of the game displayed in the lobby). Both would benefit the LocalRatings mod Edited September 27 by ffm2

RangerK
gui/gamesetup/Pages/GameSetupPage/Panels/Buttons/BalanceTeamsButton.js gui/common/network~LocalRatings.js Here's and update with small bug fixes and readbility impovements to my mod of @ffm's mod. The general value of this mod is a quick, concise suggestion about whom to swap to improve the balance using the "/suggest" command. For example: CURRENT: 59%/41% Team 1 Stronger SUGGESTIONS aop <> rambo9: 50%/50% Even or Subzero57 <> Fuzzy_dcuk: 49%/51% Even Read more in my previous post in this thread. network~LocalRatings.js BalanceTeamsButton.js
ffm2
This update adds a new rating system and a few chat commands to the team balancer. New rating system: “OpenSkill (results + statistics)” The old system (OpenSkill) only counts wins and losses. The new one also uses three statistics from each player’s past games: resources spent, enemy units killed value and buildings lost value. In my 2026 games it picked the winner 66% of the time, against 60% for results only. Choose it under Options > Rating system. I watched the leader board and I agreed with this ranking way more. Chat commands /balance: tries every team split and picks the one closest to 50/50, moving as few players as possible. /suggest: up to two single-player swaps that would make the current teams more even (3v3 and 4v4). /suggestteams: alternative team layouts (4v4). /evaluate: player rankings and an assessment of the current teams. /rate ffm 2000: rate ffm manually 2000 for that game and pairing only. /rebuild: re-rates all games, including newly downloaded ones. /about: information about the mod. Typical use with Replay Pallas Once everyone has joined your game setup, type /pallasandrebuild. It downloads up to 10 missing games for each player with few games (about a minute) and updates the ratings, so /balance already works. The remaining games then download in the background. If they change the balance by 5 points or more, you’re told to run /balance again. Without that command, you can do the same by hand: /pallas, wait for the downloads, /rebuild, then /balance. If you only want a small change instead of a full reshuffle, use /suggest. RangerK's changes got merged.
