DarkAngelBGE
How about you can set an option in your control panel allowing the system to make every username in your posts be in the color of the user's rank? That is, my name would be in red, a forumers in dark blue, etc. It's good to have that because people who are always on the run may only want to filter what is important to them (thus only read the paragraph about them and not the whole post). What do you think? Lorian
I thought it did that already
DarkAngelBGE
Hmm? In posts?
Lorian
Yeah, your names red and I'm blue
DarkAngelBGE
I don't mean the avatar space, Chris, I mean the actual posts...
Lorian
Oh i get it now, so you mean if I said DarkAngelBGE it would come out as DarkAngelBGE?EDIT: or better idea, DarkAngelBGE.
Auron
i dont think is possible......or maybe it is.......but i dont think is nessesary......different ranks are already recognized with the colored title and avatar thingy and info
DarkAngelBGE
@Chris: Exactly!@Auron: Maybe bolding names would be enough to at least meet the advantage I talked about.
Black Op
I really don't think it's that necessary. Don't forget people tend to use other names to refer to forumers so the feature would only really work if you got all those bonus names as well. Yiuel
Bolding and colouring with and outstanding color. (Hence, reddish one on WFG's borad, same on OAD and purple on TLA.)Lucky am I to only use my pseudonym Everyone knows me as... Yiuel. Not with my real name, which I don't use so often on Internet. DarkAngelBGE
@Randy: Of course, but that would be no problem. Remember that this can be set as an option in the personal control panel!
fyhuang
I don't think I would use it much - better would be to bold/highlight unread posts.
Curufinwe
(@ Yiuel: not many people know my "real" name too ... I guess it is a French feature Anyway, I like Tim's idea, but would it be possible?
DarkAngelBGE
Why shouldn't it be possible?
Klaas
Wouldn't this cause too much overhead?Basicly that's one extra db Query/post and one str_replace/username. So if you consider the amount of posts on a page and the amount of usernames in the db you'll add quite a bit of overhead.
