Forest Battle Map Question

So, this little pass (the south, north, and east) entrances into the middle of the forest battle map are impassable to siege equipment and elephants, making playing this map, a tad difficult, as the passes into the mountains are too small for them as well.  Was this on purpose, or...?  Is there a possible way to widen it a little?  In the screenshot, the pictured lithobolos couldn't get through, even after the game and towers were destroyed.

I made the map, so yeah it was a bit on purpose IIRC niektb added mountain passage on the sides as well, i don't know if they allow siege engine, but this map is more for unit guerilla anyways.

It's a Skirmish

Elephants can't do the passes in the Sierra map either. Too bad for Hannibal....
