Lion.Kanzen
I saw the notice, I'm skeptical about this.
simongeorges
I am as well, I just thought someone could be interested (and the picture is good for the artists of the community ;-)). Let's see how this develops.
Lion.Kanzen
I don't think so, the sword don't look common and is in very bad look. The shield boss is in best conditions but is not a thing that we don't know before or is not something we don't know how looking. The sword are very strange, don't look for a common soldier. As artist I can imagine how look in the best form. With their colors their original metal/ bronze textures.
feneur
Saw this: http://www.andywhiteanthropology.com/blog/j-hutton-pulitzer-backpedals-on-roman-sword-claim-watches-his-credibility-circle-the-drain in the comments So no, I don't think there's the slightest reason to believe this. I don't consider it impossible for an Ancient ship to have gotten that far, but "not impossible" and "can be proved happened" are pretty far away from each other

Loki1950
A small clarification Oak Island is a Canadian island not US and has also been connected with the pirate Black Beard's so called treasure for about 100 years. Wild stories about the island are also part of the local culture those from away need a huge truth detector Enjoy the Choice
Thorfinn the Shallow Minded
The buckler there seems to be scanty evidence for Roman presence; buckler shields were preferred during the 13th century A.D.
