niektb
Here I want to discuss what to do with the music. We have a few options:1. Use sounds and music already implemented in 0 A.D.2. Compose them ourselves. (not really an option, I fear)3. Look for royalty-free soundtracks on the internet.I prefer to use the sound already implemented in 0 A.D.Regarding to the music however, I think that I have found a good composer:http://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/426659/antti-martikainenI've listened just a few seconds but I think it's perfect to use as music in-game!It is totally free to use for non-commercial purposes as long as you credit him (on a well visited place). Lion.Kanzen
Im Sound Editor, I can record voices and sounds. but I dont create sounds like LAVS ...I know a Page about MUsic with CC by 3.0http://freemusicarchive.org Edited January 8, 2014 by Lion.Kanzen
sanderd17
You do have to watch out a bit with the licenses. We use http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ , that explicitly allows commercial usage, but also requires re-distribution under the same license. So you can use the music from that composer you found. But you'll need to distribute is a bit separated, or at least with decent license explanation. It also means that people making game videos for Youtube add revenue are in a bit of trouble. As they could do it with the CC-BY-SA licensed music, but the music from the composer you found can't be included. So it is possible to stay legal with both licenses, but it will be hard to do it right.
OmriLahav
As far as I'm concerned you're welcome to use the existing soundtrack if you like.
niektb
The musician uses the following license:http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/Is this not compatible with cc-by-sa? feneur
The musician uses the following license:http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/Is this not compatible with cc-by-sa?Short answer: No. cc-by-sa only requires you to tell who did it, and let others use the content you have created with it, while by-nc-sa disallows commercial use as well. The more complicated answer is what Sander posted above, it's possible to do it (perhaps allow people to download the music separately or something), but it's more difficult than using content which is available under the same license.

niektb
Good news!I contacted the author, explained the problem to him and he gave permission to use the music!Hi. If it's a free mod and you make no profit then you can use my music for free, as long as you give me proper credits. -Antti Martikainen Now we can select the tracks we like and fit them in appropriate places. As far as I'm concerned you're welcome to use the existing soundtrack if you like.I know, but mods are there to change and it would be nice to feature whole new soundtracks. (I'm certainly not saying that your songs are ugly. On the contrary!)
