Mythos_Ruler
There really arent any "Ages" in the game. The epochs are called "phases" as in the "Phase" of your city - the size of your city or civilisation. Village -> Town -> City.
Belisarivs
Ah, I misunderstood it.There could be better ways how to solve it.Will it be possible to have something like timed periods? It would fit to For Honour and Glory mod. Each period would last for certain time equally for all civs.
Mythos_Ruler
I don't see why not. That's one of those ideas I am sure was tossed around during design phase for 0 A.D.
Justinian
So like R:TW where if you have 10000 pop you are in major city and can get good soldiers and bigger buildings.and if you have 10 pop you are a village and can only get weak units and small buildings
Tycan
I like the idea of the more land you have, the more resources you get per second or something of the sort. that way people will always be at the edge fighting each other. But I guess it's kind of a flawed plan
Mythos_Ruler
Scipii - Actually you still "research" the higher city phase, but they aren't "Ages." Sorry to disappoint.
Justinian
DDDAAAAAMMMMMMMMMIIIIIITTTT!!!!! Bayern Munich lost and NOW I FIND OUT THAT I HAVE RESEARCH AGES
Justinian
Maybe (so you don't have to say 0AD and 0AD2) you should call pt.1 BC0 and pt.2 0AD. Just a nitpicky persons thought.
WhiteTreePaladin
I though the # came before the "BC" and after the "AD" So, why is it "0 AD" and not "AD 0"
Aeros
Our internal names for 0 A.D. indeed are part 1 and part 2, the game was envisioned as a whole but for practicality purposes we split the other 6 civs into part 2. This will also leave us plenty of room to add more features in the future as well.
Justinian
ok then pt.1 0BC and AD0. To be extra correct how about 0BCE and CE0
Mythos_Ruler
Since 0 A.D. does not exist as a true date, we took artistic liberty with the format of the name itself.
Justinian
While i had a headache, i came up up with the idea of Rebellions, where a city is taken over by rebels, the rebels would be the same race as you but you have only limited diplomatic options (war and peace). this wouldn't work unless you had miscellaneous civs. like the tribes in AOE3 except they actually did something. WhiteTreePaladin
Since 0 A.D. does not exist as a true date, we took artistic liberty with the format of the name itself. I agree. 0 A.D. is much better than "A.D. 0" or "0 B.C."

Justinian
He has a point. there is close to noone on the forums, it's sorta weird, when i signed up like a year ago, you'd get a reply in seconds, but at least to replies of mine haven't been responded back to yet. FirePowa8
I don't think there's ever been a point where you'd get a 'reply in seconds', few forums are that large. Actually, I've found this forum to be a little more active than usual as of late.Of course, getting new active members wouldn't hurt. I'll be good now. besides i'll be gone for a while: School goes back next week and i go with it. (BLOODY AUSTRALIA)
Tycan
yeah, this board could really use some more replies
Kenpachi
Hello I'm new here. I have an suggestion, units moving animation should be changed. In the preview video, marching units were happy marching , but not marching for a war. Well thats all for now.
Paal_101
Thanks Kenpachi! At present our animations and artwork are still in the preliminary stages and may very well change Stay tuned for such, as the game progresses!
Gylippus
Here some more board activity for you guys. I recently stumbled upon your site and I'm excited about what all of you are doing with 0 AD. I've got a quick question for you. Are you planning on having a unit based upon the Theban Sacred Band? I've got more questions and ideas I'd like to voice, but they're escaping my thought at the moment, but I will post when they come to me. The game looks awesome! Keep up the great work guys. I'm anxiously awaiting the release.
Paal_101
Thanks Gylippus! In fact the Sacred Band is going to be present in the game as a campaign unit Additionally, in possible expansions we will attempt to bring the Thebans in as a civilization branch, which of course means the Sacred Band. Feel free to ask more questions and suggest anything that comes to mind!
