Mythos_Ruler
Right, Temple 1 in the image is what we're going for. I posted it here to show the detail that we can include in ours.Temple 4 in the image could be a good basis for a revamped Civic Centre. The image again:
xF4ke
Something in this direction? =)Some informations:The model with the pillars got 19.500 Polys.without pillars 1650 polys Edited November 18, 2012 by xF4ke
Josh
Something in this direction? =)Some informations:The model with the pillars got 19.500 Polys.without pillars 1650 polysLooks nice! To keep the polygon count low and to keep the pillars, try using cylinders with less faces. For example, instead of a 12 faced cylinder use a 6 faced cylinder. We can do this because when zoomed out, a 6 faced cylinder is indistinguishable from a 12 faced cylinder. LordGood
That does look nice! eight sides should be enough to represent a cylinder though (it all depends on scale of course), and the reference photo has engaged squarish columns from the looks of it. That would probably save even more polys
LordGood
I brushed mine up a little, I like the direction xF4ke is going in, the exaggerated structure draws it from the rest of the Mauryan set, we might need that for an upper class structure like a temple
Ludo38
Good to see you back LordGood. My only remark on the temple will be that the entrance seems hyper narrow ! Of course we need to place the columns and they look good that way, but the entrance width feels like just enough for a human body... Maybe you could give more space between the two central columns. I don't think it will trouble the general look. All the rest is superb.

lilstewie
I dont know where to put this, but it's a recurring thing. I mean it's shown over and over and over again. People, animals, etc bowing to a Bodhi tree. Edited December 31, 2012 by lilstewie

Enrique
Hey LordGood, I think that building is ready to be posted here and get that temple in-game (and elephant stables too )What do you think?
LordGood
The elephant stables definitely need retexturingMaurStable.zipMaurTemple.zip
Enrique
It's in . The stables will need more rework, the scale right now is bigger than the fortress, so I'll have to make it smaller.

We'll need to make the player color on the Mauryan buildings bolder.

Enrique
I didn't get any feedback from you guys Please go ahead! looks awesome! Pureon
Enrique what should we do about the lack of visible player colour on the Mauryan buildings? I mentioned it here after noticing it on the house models.Could we add player colour to the canvas/cloth texture? (Probably not because we've stretched it on a few models.)How about adding some additional player colour layers to the stone on the first maur_struct texture?I'm happy to make the texture edits, but want to hear what you think

I think playercolor will be more visible this way.If it looks weird because the stretching we'll need add more on the struct texture. (or at least increase the transparency to get more intense playercolor)The last option I guess would be adding details of playercolor here and there (geometry), but that would be a little more work.Be my guest in texture edits you're far better than me.
