Mr. Bob 0
Are you guys supporting things like bump maps and specular maps? Edited January 11, 2010 by Mr. Bob
Ykkrosh 42
They're not currently supported by the graphics engine. (It should be possible to add them, but the problem is making sure all the art is consistent and good in its use of the available features, and we also want it to be easy for inexperienced modders to make content that fits into the game, so there are fairly high costs to adding new features.) Jeru 464
I edited the form instructions to make it updated (FOSS, not freeware) shorter (no need for discussion of perfection in game design) and less formal (for crying out loud, we're just a small team of volunteer game designers, not Swiss bankers). feneur 2.047
Looks good to me And it's still long enough for most people who aren't really interested to give up reading halfway through, but now short enough for the interested people to actually read it all Nice improvement. Jeru 464
Revised the Web Developer job description to exclude the IPB/Wordpress bridge issue, a requirement which we have dropped from the spec for the new website. Edited March 13, 2010 by Jeru

WhiteTreePaladin 627
This is not the correct place to post applications. To submit an application, post a new thread in the applications forum here.
Pyromaniac 0
Hello!I'm a portable software developer over at PortableApps.com and I just wanted to tell y'all that I'm writing a launcher for this game. Someone requested it be made portable here and well, yeah (my comment is near the bottom).I was just wondering, if, when its done, can I post the app in these forums? Thanks!JW HoughPyromaniacWebsite under development. feneur 2.047
Programmers: The info in the main post have just been updated on how to contribute to the game as a programmer. Hopefully it will now be easier for you to contribute. Feel free to go directly to http://trac.wildfiregames.com/wiki/GettingStartedProgrammers for the info.I was just wondering, if, when its done, can I post the app in these forums?I'm not sure I personally see the value of a portable version of the game, but feel free to develop one and we'd be glad if you post it in these forums That's one of the beauties of Open Source after all - that implementations the original developers didn't think of/don't have the skills/time/interest to develop can still be developed by someone else with the skills/time/interest to do it. feneur 2.047
I should have pointed this out before, but sadly it never occurred to me to edit the job descriptions to indicate we currently can't accept any sound effects specialist applications as we don't have a sound lead. I have edited the description to indicate this now though, better late than never I hope we soon get a new Sound Lead so it's not needed very long though.
Kimball 40
At Scion I've defined BBCode tags [hide] that basically HTML comment out anything within them, allowing me to make positions available/unavailable as necessary.

Not sure how professional it looks, but as I said, hopefully it's not for too long.

Jeru 464
Are we still seeking a sound lead?
feneur 2.047
Are we still seeking a sound lead?Ah, no. Hopefully we will not be for a long time either so I'll gladly archive that part (I also de-spoilerified the sound designer part )
Mythos_Ruler 503
Looks like if applicants use Chrome, then they need to "Paste as plain text" when they copypasta the application form in their app threads.
