Stan`
What would you add to the English style guide in fine ?

If you meant "What would you add to the English style guide in time?" the answer would be the working style stuff that Vantha and I had been using, or it might be better to add in a separate writing style guide. Stan`
I mean most of it is covered by the guide already.

As opposed to say, community balancers. There is indeed a lot of writing to be done on 0 A.D. whether it's in the game or in the documentation, but you currently do not need more permissions that you currently have ShadowOfHassen mentioned it already; it's about letting devs know we exist, what we do, for them to integrate that into their workflow, and to accept our patches. But that's probably achieved best by just getting the (big) stone rolling...

Odd, since the layout isn't much different than the current iterations we've been working on for 0 aA.D.

Yes, the basic concept and structure is similar. But I dislike how the selection is cramped into a list of dropdowns. And the division of the page into three sections in the last image feels a bit awkward. Just my personal opinion Although, I think the overall page looks a lot more coherent than ours. Vantha
For anyone interested, I just opened a differential revision submitting the core pieces of code for encyclopedia page: https://code.wildfiregames.com/D5319 3
Vantha
On another note, I came across a series of articles that I wrote some time ago, but never actually added to the encyclopedia (mostly because their topcis were not directly related to 0 A.D.). I decided to at least put them up on a PR for a review before I forget about them again. Here are the first two (about arrowheads): https://github.com/indoptogopt/GUI-page-for-0ads-encyclopedia/pull/1
Vantha
Here are two more articles on the topic of Seleucid cavalry: https://github.com/indoptogopt/GUI-page-for-0ads-encyclopedia/pull/2 Edited August 15 by Vantha

Vantha
At last, but not least, an article about crossbow designs: https://github.com/indoptogopt/GUI-page-for-0ads-encyclopedia/pull/3. The article also touches some of the Physics behind them. Is it understandable?
ShadowOfHassen
Update on my side. We decided to wait on customizing on the existing articles until the encylopedia UI is in game, so in the meantime I'm starting pre research for the next civilization. (We might not have finished with the Hellenistic civilizations, I don't know, but I decided to start pre research for the Gauls and Britons. I want to try to use primary sources, so it might take a while.

Vantha
Got back into writing a handful of articles in the last days. Here's one about the spear-thrower: https://github.com/indoptogopt/GUI-page-for-0ads-encyclopedia/pull/

When it was in my repo we kept the sources pretty organized, I don't think Vantha has posted sources for the article he adds directly to the encyclopedia UI. Stan`
Could be interesting to sort that out
Vantha
Yeah, I worked a bit messy there... I just copied the folder containing the sources from the old repo to the new one (into gui/encyclopedia/articles/Sources/, for now) and added all missing entries. Although, some comments in the files are outdated, it's at least back up again, ready to collect the sources for future articles.

Do you think it would be possible to connect the sources directly to the articles somehow ? I don’t know how but i know if i was a player interested in history I’d love to be able to quickly see where people get their sources. Vantha
Possible, yes. I suppose there could be a small button "View Source" to the bottom of articles. I have some concerns with it, though. Firstly, there is (naturally) no consistent medium or platform we used as sources - sometimes it's a book, other times a Wikipedia entry, and other times again a scientific paper. Maybe I'm overthinking this a bit, but don't you think that would come across a bit... strange? Secondly, does the WildfireGames team event support/allow external links in their game?
