josephfs Posted April 19, 2023 Report Share Posted April 19, 2023 I tried to open 0ad this morning, but it crashed. One of the windows that opened up said something about a missing mod. I haven't ever tried to download any mods. And the modifications window only lists the original game as an available mod and "This mod does not exist" as enabled mods. I'm confused how this could have happened, seeing as I haven't been messing with anything since I last played. I'd like to paste a screenshot of the error, but "You cannot paste images directly. Upload or insert images from URL", only there is no button to upload an image, and the screenshot does not have a URL. I'd also like to share the crashlog it generated, but "The text/plain file format(s) is not supported". After disabling "this mod does not exist" and enabling the main game and relaunching the game works. But I don't know why it broke in the first place. Since you re-started the game the logs are now overwritten, unless you happen to have a copy. Did you try the "choose files..." at the bottom of the editor window to upload the screenshot? Next time you encounter a problem you could .zip the logs folder and (hopefully) upload it. Even the vanilla game uses a mod which is called "0ad" in the "public" folder. Totally guessing here, but maybe an antivir was checking the 0AD files while you were trying this morning, and was done with them the next time you tried. File manager still says the last updated time was right before the crash. (at least for crashlog. I have neither upgraded the game nor ever installed mods. I only just started playing this week. Again, not super high priority, because there was such an easy and intuitive work around.
