  1. June 2004, they say. Yeah at first I thought it was just trying to make a score with all their Shaders (when I first heard of it and saw screens), then I checked later on and it looked even better (screens above), then I read a bunch about how the game is (multiplayer will rock), then I watched some trailers, learned about Chernobyl (I knew about it before, but i didn't "know" about it) and concluded that this game kicks @#$%, it's got a nice conspiracy storyline (with plans for Chernobyl-2 with the russians sending radio waves to mess with people, this was an actual conspiracy theory and it's in the game too) and RPG/FPS. It's very original and it's got alot of stuff to compete with HL2. Unless HL2's doing some original stuff too, not just technologicaly.
  2. Well, Valve hasn't released a screenshot or any peice of media in like 1 year, so HL2 might be progressing more than this But so far I like both. Alot. Stalker seems to be a more serious game to me though
  3. Chocolate Chip mint. or cookie dough... Plain vanilla isn't bad either.
  4. 7:00-8:00 Get up and get ready for school 8:00-2:45 School 2:45-3:30 friends 3:30-5:00 Homework + computer (multitasking) 5:00-6:00 AOMH work (articles, news, forums) 6:00-7:00 Dinner/relaxing 7:00-9:00 Forums, other work, community stuff 9:00-10:00 relaxing, playing something 10:00-12:00 (If I'm still up) more work or 11:00-7:00 sleep Thats pretty basic, sometimes I do things longer, sometimes I'm not even home because I'm doing things with friends. By the way, my detailed "work" scheduales could be a couple of paragraphs, so I just simply called it "work" for short. Good times though
  5. get movies here: http://www.fileplanet.com/section.aspx?s=36887&v=0 or here http://www.filefront.com/r.b/page__categor...th/_output.html
  6. Yeah, HL2 is aiming for drama in a story, while this one is sticking to the player to develop their own emotions as they play. Either way they've both got great stories and plots. I just watched some Physics demo movies of Stalker and it's just as good as HL2, if not better. Stalker is alot more believable though, based on the Chernobyl nuclear reactor explosion in 1986.
  7. "First half 2004" It really looks good, and original too. It's a FPS/RPG hybrid in which you roam this giant map trying to survive. Brilliant if you ask me.
  8. This game looks awesome, it's could really give HL2 a run for it's money... Some parts of the game look even better than HL2, this and HL2 are probably the most shader intense games coming up. www.stalker-game.com I'll let the screenshots speak for themselves. It's quite something, I'm really looking forward to this game.
  9. *cough cough doing homework till 9:00PM cough*
  10. Know whats a good idea? Chests. Ones that open too, perfect for quest scenarios. I've already made a few Models for chests, they're lookin good
  11. Finding a reason to quit also helps. My uncle's hand turned blue when he started smoking He didn't want a blue hand so he stopped smoking, that was his reason. I don't think anyone can quit "for their health" though, you need a physical object of importance to catch onto. Like money.
  12. Did your parents smoke? Thats how people usually get hooked for a long time. That and because your friends do it. You can't throw the cigarettes off all at once, but the best thing you can do is just try to limit yourself and smoke less and less. It only takes 2 months for the nicotine to get out of your system and along with it your addiction, but unfortunatly the damage it does to your health stays for a long time.
  13. Thats one step closer to global fame, brian! Welcome to the forums. thats exactly what I've been telling brian. My desktop:
  14. I don't think there were enough people in greece even to fill the 2,000+ of those ships that were on screen. Meh, but no one is going to be amazed by just 30 triremes sailing by.
  15. I nearly cracked my skull and died And I nearly drowned and died and I nearly got electrecuted and died otherwise I've been pretty safe. I've never broken a bone, except for a pinky which got smashed from a 50 pound iron dumbell that fell off a shelf and onto my pinky. That was when I was 9. My pinky's normal now though, it kinda grew back. But lets not get into details Oh one more. When I was 11 me and my friends were racing our bikes, I was on my friends bike and forgot that he was left handed (his brakes were switched around you see, so the back brake is really on the left handle bar) and I hit the front brake to stop, the bike flipped me completely over, I hit the ground so hard that I don't remember anything besides seeing the pavement meet my face, but my friends said it was pretty bad because I did 2 front flips and then smacked into the ground sideways and had the bike land ontop of me. Yeah, but good times though
  16. I took that test a long time ago and got 122 or something. It said my intellect type was a creative problem solver or something like that, I get ideas and find ways to make things work while being very creative and artistic etc. That's more acurate than when I took it this time. I got 126 this time and it said I'm a Precision Processor, same as DA. No I'm not I hate math.
  17. Yeah I just played it It's great, kinda reminds me of Need for Speed 5 with the monte carlo track. Nice game, I'll probably get it.
  18. Yeah, I'm DLing the demo right now too, the NFS games are great
  19. None of the movies are loading, you guys killed all their bandwith I'll try again later...
  20. Well duh, if you don't play multiplayer Yeah I agree, AOM is a very fine peice of work, but it lacks background, or a theme. AoK had a very distinct feal to playing it, and AoM seems to lack that. Otherwise it's a great game and with the release of The Titans that fixes things that didn't work out and adds even better things to gameplay, it's probably the funnest game I've ever played, over all FPS and RPG games and all. Note I said The Titans, not normal AoM. So get it
  21. If Sanjab said it, then it's safe for me to say I've played the leaked version as well. It's very awesome, but it's nowhere close to the final version. You won't learn very much from the leak about the story of HL2, but I did find something interesting. HL2 originally started being developed right after the first HL and I think used the same engine, but then they decided to really out-do themselves since they've got money coming from Counter-strike and all those. There were some sound files in the old HL wav format from "City 17" with this guy talking about citizens and stuff and some new order moving in. Slightly interesting indeed. Shhh
  22. Didn't I talk to you about this DA? Ok Heres how it really is. The hacker guy was snooping on Valve's email server connected to the internet and managed to get a loose build of HL2 by taking models and files and other bits and peices from their email server and compiling them. From the alpha, I would guess it's a 2 year old pre-build of the E3 demonstration, along with a handful of old unfinished maps. All the alpha version is, is a heap of bugs, missing models, and unfinished maps. It's 2 years old. Valve has never been lying about HL2's status and the hacker is simply spreading crap about Valve and encouraging the community to think Valve is lieing about HL2. Also, since the hacker was just snooping for files, there is no AI in the leaked version - he didn't manage to nick the AI. And stop calling it an Alpha, because it isn't, it's not playable despite the rumours you've been hearing which are there to get people to DL it. CONCLUSION: HL2 "alpha" is not what people are saying it is, Valve is not lieing, hacker is spreading crap about valve, and the "alpha" is actually a 2 year old demonstration build of Half Life along with some unfinished maps. Oh and the leaked source code. It's also 2 years old and about 1/3rd of it is missing, like the physics code and such, the rest is unfinished. No cheater can build anything off of that. The news your hearing about the alpha. It's mostly fake. Don't buy into any of it. So that settles it.
  23. We've got only 10% of our website server space used and 50% of the downloads servers used, Space or money is not an issue. The only reason why I think they took it down was because no one cared about EEH anymore and for the past couple of months it was completely dead. I agree there should've been some sort of warning or speach though.
  24. Yeah, thats actually how it is. Why else do you think that women also pour their hearts into some random guys who just happened to be on television, or a movie (Think Orlando Bloom, no one cared about him before he was in LOTR) Girls go after guys who are already successful or have girlfriends, because then if the guy gives attention to the girl she'll feal all special for being the one he gave his attention to; for being the one that he chose over all the others. It's an evolutionary thing
