  1. You're an idiot. The video is absolutely brilliant. it's really wonderful to see the game in action after following it for so long. I did notice a slight mistake though - the attacking animation of some of the Romans resets the loop before it's finished.
  2. "The proper name for the 5-row ships is "Quinquereme" not Quintireme. First used by the Carthaginians" I thought the Syracusans invented them? Or is that the four row ship... :/ As for Greeks, you'll certainly have hoplites, Spartans, pezhetairoi and toxotoi - that's a start! Oh, and hetairoi, naturally. And peltasts. Maybe hypaspistai, or is that too much Macedonia?
  3. You appear to have very little perspective. And I don't see where you're "taking it on the chin"; CheeZy is just explaining the situation as best he can. The other type of response would be "it'll be ready when it's ready". CheeZy's is a tad better than that.
  4. ...But on the other hand, traditional game developers don't release screenshots month-by-month showing the progress of production and often showing half-finished graphics. Be thankful for what we get.
  5. Bah, it doesn't need to be historically accurate to be cool!
  6. This assumes gold is placed 100% randomly. In most RMSs, things are set so each player only has 1 gold mine within 200 metres of his base.
  7. I disagree; the RAF tech tree is overly simplistic. For example, Greece is made up of the following: 1 swordsman, 1 spearman, 1 archer, 1 horseman, 1 super-spearman and 1 boat. The first 4 have 5 upgrade levels and 3 unit appearance changes, the super-spearman (spartan) doesn't change, and the 1 boat has 3 upgrade levels. There's also a catapult and a flame thrower siege thing, I much prefer the variety available through the AOM techtree, though certain elements of RAF are very good: the ladder teams, the walls, the large boats, the large armies and the way formations work, etc. Definitely. The economy is overly simplistic in RAF, and this is something which detracts even further from the game due to the simplistic of combat-unit choice.
  8. Perhaps the attack doesn't do technically anymore damage, but the rear of the infantry may be less protected so have less "armour", making the attack do more damage inadvertantly.
  9. When you download the game, you'll obviously also be downloading the graphics of the game. Given the apparent easy-moddability, it's likely you'll have easy access to these.
  10. I heard that a mod on GI Joe for Battlefield 1942 was also cancelled because of Hasbro... they don't like anyone using anything of theres, it seems.
  11. Personally (no offense) I can't stand hearing American English. It sounds really bad, wrong, and way to twee for my liking bnut thats just my opinion..
  12. this means the person is all talk but won't do anything about what they've said. People who make empty threats. Tube? Never heard of that. It's either TV or Tele or Television here... Again, ive never heard washroom... ...definately not here. Mobile Phones/Mobiles [uK] - Cell Phones [uS]
  13. soda/pop drinks are known as Fizzy drinks. For example, coke, sprite and pepsi are all fizzy drinks. My avatar is that of a steef. Name of Stranger, star of the next Oddworld game.
  14. I always use "Top of the Morning." It is to play on the stereotype (which i always seem to do) but it is still used!
  15. Another one: Dummy (UK) - Pacifier (US) I would've thought the UK one would've been "mate".. *shrugs*
  16. "zed" is how it's pronounced in the UK.
  17. Um... not exactly right as far as I speak. Old people are merely old people, any adult is a chap or a bloke and it can apply to old people, but not solely. Never heard let me bum a f-a-g either... maybe its a London thing but cigarettes are definately called f-a-gs Dont americans say lorry? Anyway, English use both. Also: {UK - US} Lift - Elevator autumn - fall biscuit - cookie boot - trunk bonnet - hood cot - crib cupboard - closet first floor - second floor ground floor - first floor holiday - vacation trousers - pants waistcoat - vest sweets - candy pavement - sidewalk petrol - gas handbag - purse spellings: flavour - favor humour - humor center - centre fibre - fiber metre - meter theatre - theater diarrhoea - diarrhea foetus - fetus
