Edit: Honestly, I'd rather have the unpause feature for other players nonetheless, who knows some players might get bored of waiting and just decide to let the player afk in the middle of team games. Maybe have a feature to allow control their units for allies just like in Warcraft 3 if they want to afk without pause. Oh but when I think about it, is there even an unkick command? Atleast that solves my worries. Is there a list of command for host that I can read on? Thanks.
  4. There is a bit of a problem with pausing, I was observing a game of 3 player FFA. A player who lost his Civil Centre decided to pause the game. We've talked it out but after 5 minute of asking to unpause, the game ended by the host quitting because the player doesn't want to unpause. So following Dota's style, give the ability for players to unpause. Pausing/unpausing should have a cooldown of 3 minute(individual, starts upon unpause) to prevent abuse or a better solution is welcomed. Players who pause then unpause later are not effected. Player 1 pause for a reason but after awhile that it took longer then expected player 2 decides to unpause the game, the cooldown has started. Another case where player 1 decides to pause and then player 2 unpause it accidentally, cooldown starts. But player 2 can pause, then eventually when player 1 returns he unpause. Cooldown will not lower during pause.
  5. Can confirm, thats what I do late game from observing players. Thats.. quite an exploit, might as well set global limit, having more doesn't benefit the player. Me with 50 cows and on the other side a penguin nirvana about 50(I don't even know what ice house is).
  6. Come share your thoughts in how to troll players with a personality trolling AI, be it describing ways to annoy them whilst also enjoyable to play with. This is just the idea, feel free to make it a reality. Ally AI - Some ally units will idle/walk randomly for 1-10 min at the start because they want to view how good of a weather it is(snow biome). - Sometimes doesn't contribute in helping you in any way, just becomes economy playthrough and is ignored by enemy until player is dead. Enemy AI - This was my first thought if ship capture was a thing, Imagine me building my first arrow ship and out of nowhere an enemy ai's ramming ship stocked with champions stole my ship and return to fog of war waiting for more oppurtunistic booty and I'm now officially landless for all eternity. - Send a minimum of any unit of 1 to scout the outer edge of the base, they sometimes attack one time and returns back to scouting. - When needed will request resources in synonym of each type from you and call you uncle, old man, old fart, long lost cousin, prince of the garden of Eden(Africa), servant. - Build buildings in your area periodically every minute for free mostly houses and sometimes wonder to assert dominance. - Make corral to produce animals that patrols in your field of vision, if their health falls below 50% they vanish to thin air. And many more~

Former, I gave out how the AI behaves currently and wanted to share where to improve upon its logic so they focus more on efficiency and churn out plethora of basic gatherer units early on then transition to late game with non-gatherer units. VE is fine as it is since they were put a limit. VH is where they become a bit of a nightmare to fight if they can reach their max 15PPM in 25 minutes. If still don't understand its fine~ I'm quite tired.
  8. To players who haven't beaten Petra and don't want to learn how they work I've spoiler some bits of info. So I've checked and noted the AI's limitation and I'll be using pop per minute[PPM] as the term: VE will have max pop(300) at min 60[5PPM], E - 45[6.7PPM], M - 35[8.5], H - 30[10]. VH - 25[12]. New players will be ending the game around 1 hour mark, so [5PPM] is quite simple albeit if they can survive, tbh let it stay limited. - The AI on Medium and above will dedicate so there is quite a lot of idle time when they could use it to gather more resources, I understand its use for harrassing, I will still beat them, they will have to rebuild it = stunted economy. If they could transition from gatherer to non gatherer in late game(min 25-35) then it will be beneficial. - In terms of Very Hard from what I observe when they solo, its possible they could reach 15PPM which is my current level(Max pop at min 18-23), 15PPM for VH will be an actual pain to fight but its what I recommend because its meant to be difficult but possible to win. So players who intend to fight 2 VH[26PPM], will have to unfortunately fight the improved [30PPM] lol.

  11. Man... if I knew, I could just download here the recent appimage. I tried to go with the nightly and gone to build it but its too complicated for me. Current issue is the middle mouse is clicking instead of its pointer but I found the temporary solution for the time being.

  13. Do the alt+tab if you can see 0A.D menu, if you can see you see it, this is just idk testing. Can you try the flatpak version, you need flathub and maybe flatseal too so you can tweak the game. Open and see, otherwise if it still doesn't work go to terminal and type: flatpak run com.play0ad.zeroad Check any error, still nothing? Then I don't know, I'm using AMD. then again be sure to experiment with flatseal.   14. Ever wondered how newbies new to to this game ever suffer at the start? Or will veteran competitive sweaties like gladiators bath in praise, smiling a satisfied 1v7VH Petra using only woman on an open map. Where stories go, then I'd like to listen whats its like. If you have proof to back up your claim then go ahead. I've shared mine, I don't like repeating and my memory is not that good. Easy - I'd had to tone down to supermarket(superbox? Ah yes sandbox) just to understand the gist of things, I restarted the skirmish map oasis again and again to be efficient and I tend to give up easily, I wished there was a button to restart, and then I kind of brute force my way with just basic infantry of spearman and slingers as the default civ Athenian. I didn't know capture mechanic so I was kind of pissed off, having to destroy buildings and finding that one single unit. Medium and hard are just me learning the game and getting used to it slowly. Very Hard - Was still playing scenarios, this time Briton in a night map. Had 10 champion/mercenary(?) with me, so I thought I could gather but nah they just stand there as defenders. So I continued to mass produce minding my own business a healthy civilisation until an army arrive and I lost my whole army, so I had to restart this time getting ready and producing faster. Yes they are all basic infantry but I had dogs to help. And so... I still didn't know of capture, so I had to play mouse and cat. Modded; Expert Petra(VH) - As Han, I was wondering why the AI was passive while I was building, then my army came in contact, and that 1 horse archer would run away if chased by my spearman, okay. So I'm playing with micro intense bot on steroid. I've pulled back my spearman and let my rangers do the shooting. It solves the problem, it took a while having to chase and my army spreads thin at their base. Okay I don't like this AI, so in their last workers they run and I had to chase them... 2 VH Petra - With good experience as Han, I lost the first against raid of overwhelming number, 2nd try with cheese like strategy, the building would take damage but not my army, and just like that I boom and won at 40min mark in a mountanous map(I choose any land map). It felt good ngl. I'll go continue to play vs 2 for a while. People, if you want to make your life easy, capture their CC and the AI will automatically destroy their building when the capture points decrease before 50%. You only need to chase workers now, select your whole army and control(attack anything in sight) + right click drag a curve reaching the edges of the map, your army will now walk in that directions like a death machine. Thank you to the programmer who did right click drag.
  15. You can't change the past where amatuers are just having fun, it was their choice to comment it here instead of making a new thread. You can however go ahead and make your own thread with specific feature as long its relevant and not repeatable and that your interested to see it fruition. Then again do you think most people bother skimming past page 10(200) of the many threads? Counterproductive yes, but this is not a job, its a hobby.

  17. @CheckTesterit was a joke that came up onto me, so I wanted to share a laugh. I look forward for this feature to be implemented. I also want a troll ai that does what I thought of. Trully it will caught people off guard, those whose used to it will get annoyed which serves the purpose of trolling. Man, my urge to troll is high....
  18. Han vs 2 Very Hard AI (Random) on a feldmap's map(Normal size). 2nd try. First try got overwhelmed. I don't have the replay for it(used a deprecrated mod I made which I deleted recently, it was weird to say the least) If there is a texture like that in game, I would love to play it, black and white... just like a movie. This one, was my first as Hans after I got to familiarize how they work vs VH AI. on Isthmus of Corinth. I'm surprised I won it in 22min at first. Average game is around 28 minute(20-35). Uh oh, the summary listed the map lol.
  19. Make an ai to simply counter/keep up a certain playstyle. I play turtle and I never send any troops, so call this Ai "Fat-Grubber" a literal no defense but it intends to maximise economy to keep up with my booming, fixing the issue of pathfinding harvesting resource, 8 or more second of total walk will require the building(I forgot whats its called) on a dense tree(beyond 5) in an area. No 2nd CC unless metal/stone is out, no towers will be built/fortress. It produce woman mostly at the start, 40-50 farmers, 12-24 on stone/metal depending on its civ, still using woman(uses only food). The army will take care of wood, produces barracks and cranks out amass amount of citizen footman, and no horseman/siege/elephant units. If it gets attack on a certain number of units(say 30/more), it will retreat and group up an army double/all that amount to counter my army. In C&C:TW. I played 1vs7 against easy nod. You know what they crank? Only infantry at the start. I get to enjoy hearing their shooting~ they make vehicles after some point but at the start man... I like seeing large blobs being rolled by my medium vehicle~~~ they hardly made any advanced vehicle if I recall. Another thing was they start building defense upon being attacked in base(so in 0a.d you can try to code the female workers to make mass amount of towers, followed with wooden walls to prevent my advance when I start attacking in their base). In conclusion, play with what the ai can build with its limited choice(depends on playstyle). Then improve the base mechanic for it to shine, I hope this helps you, yawn...

  21. If they can integrate them to the mod that would be great, however I don't use that mod currently since I want to experience mostly vanilla. Will do that, but if I ever leave and the mod is still needed, then will give the author to someone. Looking forward to it. oof, I would cry like the fox if I was there. Edit: In case you didn't notice I've updated the file(Forgot to remove in the Han CC name Zhu and WONDERMAN text), be sure to grab the better version. I'm waiting for the appeal of mod.io will be sending the link once accepted, from there the info is detailed. But in simpleton Barebone is the code inputed without changing height, Default makes all height to 8, Better set all height to 1.
  22. Hmm... now this is a problem, how do I play multiplayer with this... Please this is a QOL type of mod... I don't like the way Han's CC blocks my right click... xd. I'm so tired, anyways single player rejoice! Have a good day/night.
